I was wondering if anyone has any input on how to weight the an 2007 malibu 23lsv......I have tried just filling all the ballast up and putting down the wedge.....the wake wasnt to hudge.....but then again there was only 1 guy and two light weight girls in the boat......any ideas

With all the ballast and the wedge set at peak wake (gauge pointing straight up), you should have a large wake, however it will be very steep, and to make it rampy you need to add 200-300 lbs additional weight to the bow of the boat. Also, It doesn't hurt to add a 400 lb sack in each rear compartment.

Put the girls in the bow.

You probably didn't have all the ballast full. Fill the ballast from the bow tank first, then middle tank, then two rears. This way you will surely fill the tanks. This is what I do with the vlx.

stock ballast, plus 750 on the floor, and 400-500 additional in each rear locker.
|
yep, Sam nailed it.

We use 440's in the rear lockers, ~600 on the floor, and 2 250's in the bow. The wake is huge and rampy.

Yeah, the stock wake on the LSV is not very big especially if you don't have many people on board. It really depends on how big you want the wake. You can keep adding as much weight as you want and the wake size will just continue to grow.

Those some 750's in the trunks and put another 500 or so up front and the wake will be huge! With that much weight you really do not need to use the wedge.

You can also plumb in sacs on top of the locker tanks if you wish. PM me if you want details or check out www.themalibucrew.com if you're not already on there.

Post a pick of your wake with that set-up Eubanks!!!

i thought that you arent supposed to put weight in the rear compartments? I tried putting a 250lb sac in a vlx and the floors started to bow up?!
|
just make sure you have the stock tanks in the floor full before you fill the aftermarket sacs on top of the floor. The water in the tanks make the tanks more stable and apt to resist the weight of the sacs. Whatever you do, DON'T just use the aftermarket sacs and not fill up the factory ballast - you can easily crack or fatigue the plastic of the hardtanks.
