Well my question is basically what is the best program, and most user friendly, for editing photos? A price and a place to buy it would be nice. I need something worth getting, and that my mom can learn to use. She know nothing about computers.

The best would be Photoshop CS2 You can pick it up on E-bay for about 300.00

Or you can go with Photoshop Elements but it doesn't do as much as CS2.

howakeboartder 10-03-2006 5:34 PM

Well 300 is a little out of my price range.

Walt 10-03-2006 6:23 PM

I think PS elements goes for about 100.00

howakeboartder 10-04-2006 12:45 AM

So I went to Fred Meyer today and saw Photoshop something 4.o for 100. Is that what I should try?

richd 10-04-2006 6:27 AM

A version that old may have less features then elements.

tdeneka 10-04-2006 9:35 AM

It was probably PS Elements 4.0

http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=productlist&A=details&Q=&sku=40 1763&is=REG&addedTroughType=search

howakeboartder 10-04-2006 10:41 AM

Yeah that was it.

Rich, is that too old?

Walt 10-04-2006 12:13 PM

<!-quote-!>quote:
Rich, is that too old?<!-/quote-!>

That all depends on what you want to do with it.

howakeboartder 10-04-2006 1:43 PM

Well I'd like to be able to do alot with it.
Layer photos, so that I can get multiple shots on one page. And lots more...

swami 10-04-2006 3:05 PM

Check out Paint Shop Pro, it's a cheap alternative for Photoshop. However, they send out free copies of Photoshop Elements bundled up with things like digital cameras. Ask around, you might have a friend that has a Canon Digital that has PS Elements and doesn't know it.

Photoshop is an awesome program though.

-S

howakeboartder 10-04-2006 3:52 PM

Well hell I'll ask my mom if our Canon came with something. Thanks Swami, I didn't even think of that.

howakeboartder 10-04-2006 9:18 PM

Okay so our camera didn't come with anything. So I found Photoshop Elements 4.0 on e-bay for about $30.00. Should I get it or wait for something better?

Walt 10-05-2006 6:41 AM

Something better for 30.00 ?

swami 10-05-2006 2:47 PM

I still say you can find em for cheap. Let me see if I have one at home and I'll get back to you. I just moved and house is in disarray but I know where my Canon 20D box is and all the software is in it.

howakeboartder 10-05-2006 3:22 PM

Swami: that would be great if you could hook me up. Thanks
