This is some footage taken this past summer of my wife and myself doing some riding.

http://www.wakepics.com/view_single.php?medid=13412

About mid way through the summer my wife took a bad spill on the board and tore a bunch of muscles and ligaments in her neck so that took her out for the rest of the summer and then some, which is why I dont have any more footage of her.

Anyway, if you guys have any comments on the vid or tips for me on my riding go ahead and let me know.

Lastly if you guys could check out the last clips of my tantrum attempts and let me know what you guys think that I am doing wrong that would be great. I am wondering what I did on my last attempt that was so different from the rest of my attempts that got me so close to landing.

(Message edited by mhsb1029 on January 19, 2005)

You seem to be getting hooked up on the 2nd wake when you're landing your tantrum. Try shortening the rope 5 ft and see if that helps any.

Not that I've ever done it, but I'd try what Aaron is suggesting. It does look like you are hanging up on the top of the 2nd wake. Looks like height and everything is ok. Actually it looked also like a little bit of overrotation on a few attempts.

Eric

How fast does she ride compared to you? She gets great height, I'd look at increasing her speed a bit though. You're so close, way ahead of me. Where abouts do you ride around Spokane? I'm down that way a couple of times per year, my wife has a sister that lives there and family all over Washington.

I've been thinking about heading down there this summer for a week or so.

She rides about 1mph slower than I do. Before the month of June we do most of our riding on Courdelane, After the 1st of June we usually take our boat up to our cabin on the PendOreille river. Shoot me an email if you want to try and meetup.

hey, did those tamtrum attempts hurt?

mhsb1029 01-20-2005 7:00 PM

Some of them did hurt. A couple of times I tweaked my right knee when I would come down straight legged. I think that the worst falls on them were the nut slappers, you know the kind where it feels like there on fire.

When i was learning the tantrum i sacked myself almost 4 times in a row, it was brutal!

Mark-

Nice video! Very clean and clear.

The only thing I noticed on your tantrums and let me pause and preface that I'm not the expert on tantrums, it looks like you have good pop, but you could probably get more pop if you didn't start your rotation so early. It looks like you're starting the rotation in the middle of the wake, versus waiting till you reached the top of the wake and then popped and rotated. I think this would give you more height and more time in the air to spot your landing...you then wouldn't get hung up on the down wake. Keep up the hard work and good luck!
