Good beginner board for 6'1 250lbs?
Looking for a board for my husband who is 6'1 250 right now - although he normally is around 230. Also one I can use too. Ive ridden a board that is in the 140's before and actually find it easier to ride. My husband has never ridden. So what can you all suggest?

i'm close to your husband's weight and size, 6'2" 260lbs and i currently ride a Slingshot Response 145 which is great as it's very wide (more board area) and the flex is easier on an overweight's knees in all situations. :) it may not be a beginner's board, but you can surely learn on it as fast as on any other board.

6-1 220 here. I ride a Hyperlite Motive 140 and dont have a problem getting up.

I am 6 foot and 215 and I am riding a Ronix Vault 144 it works great for me. I have a friend who is about 5'6 and 170 and he rides the board with no problem either.

The Vault is a great beginner/intermediate board and it comes in a 144 which can support a pretty hefty amount of weight.

the LF trip or the Hyperlite Marek

The 144 vault is a great board for the bigger beginners (its works pretty well for the advanced people too) there's a good bit of surface area to it and its pretty stable. I'm 6'1" 185lbs and I like it. Also another one to consider is the 144 Viva, its a pro-model and a bit more expensive but its a good board to learn on too. Bet you could pick up one from last year pretty cheap.

Everyone sings the praises on the Lyman and in a 143 it would fit him and they are out there for great deals right now. Not positive about how good it would be for a newbie but at least he wouldn't outgrow it in a season.
