Good family game/boardgame
 

Heading to some relatives for Christmas and want to bring a cool board-game for them. Younger couple (mid 40's), two daughters roughly 10 and 14.
Any ideas?

My family used to get pretty serious about the Pictionary and Trivial Pursuit battles over the holidays.

Settlers of Catan - You can thank me later.

The following are card games, but nothing like a standard deck of cards type games....

Bonanza - (nothing to do with the tv show)

Rummicub. Not sure about the ages but its pretty easy to play and tons of fun.

Perudo-The ganme of Peruvian liar dice, great game
Mexican Train, really great game
Balderdash-really funny.

these are a little more fun than your classic board games, all easy to learn. Can be use as drinking games as well for the adults.

Apples to Apples is our favorite. Plays 2-10 people. You cant stop laughing.

Ticket to Ride games are fun with the kids and adults. You cant go wrong wth either one

x3 on apples to apples. Everyone loves it, and perfect for any age.

I am not much of a board game person... but settlers is great. I suck at this game and its still entertaining.

+1 for Settlers of Catan
A2A is also fun, but we end up just making up our own categories

The Monopoly card game was a hit last year during the holidays for us. Really entertaining and it only takes about 15 minutes a game... not the 3 to 4 hours the board game used to take us. :-)

My family loves playing Quiddler. The kids get into too.

Cranium, my family like any of the Cranium style games.

I like "Things"
