- - Perfect Pass -- Throttle Return Spring on Monsoon? (http://www.wakeworld.com/forum/showthread.php?t=690722)

Installed PP Stargazer Wake Edition on the Malibu this weekend in about 2 hours, and it worked AMAZING (probably the only thing I've installed recently that worked right the first time). Thanks again to Ian and Only Inboards for getting it to me cheap and quickly. The only issue I had (aside from routing the wires from the servo motor to the computer..wow that sucked) was with my throttle return spring. I have the fuel injected Indmar Monsoon II 320hp, which has a throttle return spring wound around the bolt that the throttle arm pivots around. Not sure if it happened when I replaced the arm w/the perfect pass one, or if it was like this before, but the spring is basically unwound and not working. I jerry-rigged it with the spring included with perfect pass, but I'm not happy with this as a permanent solution because it looks crappy and involves zip ties. The spring is a little too strong (which I could adjust) but I would like to fix the spring that's on the engine and remove the one that I added. Anybody done this/know how to? Thanks in advance!

I have the same motor and had to add a spring as well. It's been that way for about 6 yrs. Just clean up the mounting and lose the zip ties. This is fairly common. It's not worth the hassle to 1) find a stronger torsion spring, and 2) go to the trouble of taking the TB apart to install it.

If you really want to do something else, www.leespring.com will do custom winds.

Ryan, I think you should just ditch the springs all together and go with a custom rubber band/ zip tie combo! HAHA I'm finishing my PP install tomorrow, debrief to follow.

I could just cast a shadow on it and Rustie could move it back and forth.
