prop for Avalanche (surfing)
I’ve been running a Michigan Ambush 4 blade 13 x 13 on my 04 Avy, and when we hit rollers while surfing it seems to cavitate. I’m going to get a 3 blade Acme 911. I’ve read a lot of forums and this seems to be the best prop for my boat when fully weighted for surfing. Does anyone think this will help? My v-drive is a 1:1 ratio. I already know that it burns a lot of fuel, but what the heck? You gotta pay to play....Also the Ambush was suggested to me at the local prop shop, I’ve never seen a 13 x 13 Acme. Have i been running the wrong prop on my boat for the last 6 years? I hope not:banghead:

My experience with my Centurion was that once I switched from a 3 blade to a 4 I never wanted to go back, much more low end with the 4 blade. |
Tony, Jon was looking into 5 blades he found what he thought would work you should msg him about it.

Dirt, the Centurion crew guys are saying the 911 is better.....then the 4 blade i have on there. Ben I'll wait till he runs the 5 blade, then see how he likes it. I can't afford a 5 blade right now, those suckas are spendy!! LOL

1:1 tranny= 3 blades. Go with the 911. It's a nice prop and you can find them used a lot.

I've got the 911 on my 1:1. Works great. What year Avy is yours? That may be a deciding factor as well... I think the newer ones will accept the 4 blade 1579. Definitely search Centurion Crew there's like a TON of info on surf setup for your boat.

I would steer clear of a 5blade prop with 1:1 gear drive for now... until more testing has been done.

I also support the 911. You do not want a 4 blade on that boat.

911 it is! Jasin, my Avy is a 2004. I can’t wait to try it out!

got my 911 yesterday! Can't wait to put it on!

Ran the 911 last week, and it was so much better! Felt like my engine ran smoother and the whole ride was better. Lots of hole shot with 2200 lbs of ballast!
