Boat is a Mastercraft X-10.

Running 3 12" Rockford P312D4 subs, 2 under the observers seat and 1 at the drives feet.
Everything sounds great however the boat really starts to rattle and vibrate from the subs once the volume is turned up. You can even see some of the cushions (especially the port side bow cushions) lifting and vibrating with the beat.

A lot of the vibrations are also coming from the windshield and dash area. I've made sure nothing in the glove box is rattling (it's currently empty) and have made sure all the windshield hardware is tight.

Any suggestions or recommendations on sound proofing the boat? I've thought about maybe moving the subs into the rear storage hatches on either side of the engine. I'm a bass head so like (need) to feel/hear my bass.

Thanks.

Ooops.. Just noticed I posted this in the wakeboarding forum.. Can someone move it to the Boats and Boat Accessoried forum..

(Message edited by aircanada on May 03, 2004)

I've heard of this problem before. It's very serious. Send me all your stereo equipment and i'll take a look at it. I think there's something wrong with it.

But seriously you probably just need more hot chicks to hold those bow cushions down.

OK but seriously have you tried using Lock Tite on all the screws and bolts. That's where i would probably start. Or maybe rubber washers on the things that vibrate the most. Sounds like a good problem to have. :-)
