Well, the terrain looks like a mountainous desert so I'm guessing it's a manmade lake/reservoir. Did somebody not know that the corps of engineers (or whoever runs the dam) was going to drop the water level several feet?

Is it me or does the ground around that boat look totally dry as if that boat has been there a couple days. Plus, how long does someone stay away from their wakeboat for water levels to drop that much without noticing?

At this point with the tide that low, that's when you get a bunch of your friends together with some shovels and dig it deep enough to float it out. That sucks for them. Never beach your boat or come up that close to it. We always anchor out and tie off with the rope on shore, walk off a little ways through the water. Wet feet is better than dry boat.

It's on Colorado, lower river around Blythe. They've been running a 'flood' to Mexico so that's where the beach was at the time they cut the water off. From what I understand the owner was there playing with the kids and they were stuck by the time they realized what was going on, apparently they have a house on the other side so it was an easy trip home.

I believe the plan is for the tow people to raise it with some air bags and slide it back to the water. Sucks, but there's no damage to the boat.

Really? I doubt those prop shaft is designed to hold 6000lbs

I'd bet there some damage but it could have been minimized if the running gear worked it's way into the sand slowly as the water receeded.

This reminds me of a mistake of my own. The difference between high and low tide at my marina is about 8 feet. I launched at low tide, idled to my slip, tied up, and began working on stuff. My marina is very small and is only used by a few locals, so I wasn't in any rush to pull my trailer out. Before I knew it two hours had passed. When I looked over at the ramp, there was my SUV submerged up to the rear doors. When I went to my dealer and asked them to change the rear differential fluid, the guy was like "Really? Nobody ever asks us to do that." I just smiled and said "I have reason to believe it was submerged in water."

Water level was coming up today, hopefully he got it off.

It's certainly harder to steal when it's on the beach. Poor mans security system.

This is what happens when everyone and their brother has a sacked up boat. They fill the ballast (tanks/ sacs) and the lake level rises. They all leave for the day and someone gets left high and dry. It is really bad on weekends:banghead::banghead:

I'm not saying steal the boat, but if you dig it out, the gas is yours. Run it down to 1/8 of a tank and anchor it in a safe spot.

looks like the are a bunch of big rocks on that shore. I bet the bottom of that boat is trashed.

Plus, the boat is facing towards the shore in the first pic and then away from the shore in the second. Either someone has been trying to drag that boat off the ground (bad), or the water came up and then back down again.

That's a tricky beach. Way shallow approach plus it's only about a mile down from the dam so water level changes quickly. Only stopped there a couple times over the years and didn't stay long. Irony is the owner has a place directly across the river. Heard they rigged up spotlights the last couple nights.

Seems like something that could easily happen if the water level fluctuates that much...feel bad for the guy.

Hopefully it stayed fairly stationary so the bottom didn't get trashed. I'd be barfing if I did that to my gazillion dollar boat

The problem with that area is it a long shallow approach, so even as the boat started the float it was still a ways to get into deeper water. Water came up enough to float and spinet but not enough to get it out of there. They tried using some ski ropes to pull it out but they snapped. But was still there overnight. They hooked a light to it to keep an eye on it from across river. Not the best pic Attachment 35643

IS this the Parker portion of the river or further south towards Blythe? Looks like Parker to me.

I'd be calling the corps of engineers and pleadings for a high elevation to get that $120k boat off the freaking beach.

Parker, not my dock. We have a place down tree but deter down river. Pics are actually from another site where people are down in Parker.

I'd be calling somebody too. Figure you can buy a 130k boat, could probably pony up another 1k to get some services out there to lift it off

The sad thing is, if you live across from that beach, you should know how much the water level changes. Why would you park your boat there? I could understand a newbie to the area, but a resident...wow. I guess God is punishing him by making him stare at it from thier house.

money doesn't buy brains, right John? That water fluctuates like that all the time.

It's a bad deal for sure. But reports were the water dropped 2' in an hour. That's pretty darn quick, even for that area. I'm guessing that's fast enough to catch some of us on here. We get to poke a little humor at it, but in all reality, really sucks for any boat owner. Except seadoo boats, those just suck :)

I feel sorry for the guy in general, you would not want to happen to you. 2ft in one hour is just plain Stupid. I guess thats what we get for running around in 4-6 ft of water all the time. If the boat is not damaged who cares really. It is just a painful sight to see.
