Wetsounds WS-420 Problem

I was installing the 420 today and hooked everything up. The problem I am having is that my inner knob controls the tower and the outer knob controls the in boat speakers. I have checked the connects many times and there are hooked up correctly. If i switch the hookup so that they are connected incorrectly but so that the knobs work then the mic will not work and emits a very high pitched sound out of the in boat speakers.

What is my problem?

On ours the outer works the tower. As for the high pitched squeal, it is called feedback. I think your mic volume is too high or the gains on the 420 are to high. On wetsounds webpage there is a proper procedure on how to tune the system. We are running our mic at the 10:00 position at the most

The mic works perfect when the tower is control by the inner knob, when i turned up the inner knob the tower and sub get louder, when i turn up the outer knob( (what should control the tower) the in boat speakers get louder and the sub is not hitting. The mic works on any volume level but when I switched it around to where the connections were incorrect and the knobs worked fine the mic still emitted a noise at around 7:00 o'clock. Im so confused.

that sounds backwards, i would e-mail or call WS to troubleshoot the control issue..

JV, it is backwards but don't know how to fix it.

OK, NEW PROBLEM
Hooked up my WS-420 and everything is perfect now, however when I flip on my tower lights the headunit and 420 both turn off and when I turn the tower lights off they turn back on again.

I have a 2006 x-star..

So what fixed the original problem with the "reversed" knobs, couple of RCA's in the wrong spot?

Sounds like a low voltage issue. Is the head unit still on the original ground source, or did you rerun it?

Sounds like it is a problem with the installer and that the unit is in perfect working order. Unless you know what you are doing with installing the 420 as well as matching the gains to you amplifiers, you are not going to get anywhere close to the full potential of this unit.

Why don't u just call call wetsounds and they can walk you through the install. I'm sure they would be happy to help you get it right.
