What rope length does everyone ride on?
And Speed?

woohoo 04-20-2007 1:23 PM

I ride at 70' at 24.

migs 04-20-2007 1:51 PM

extend the rope/handle until the board rides up the wake right before the wake starts to crumble. Different lengths at different weights/conditions/speed. There isnt 1 set setting regardless if its the same boat and weight on it.

andy_nintzel 04-20-2007 4:20 PM

26.5mph 85 feet.

closedtoe 04-21-2007 11:10 PM

26mph @ 70 feet

dlwsrider 04-22-2007 12:01 PM

75 feet at 22.5

gimp990 04-22-2007 1:10 PM

80 ft @ 22-25 mph(depends on the boat)

wakedad33 04-22-2007 1:12 PM

Wakesetter, your 13 and 100 lbs, if your PP is right your riding to fast.

closedtoe 04-22-2007 1:41 PM

Ya When the boats loaded up i ride at 26 to clean up the wake which it usually is, but if there's only the driver and a spotter in the boat i go 24.

gimp990 04-22-2007 3:05 PM

Wakesetter i think that your PP is off a little bit. At 70 feet your wake should be clean at 19-21 mph.

walt 04-22-2007 4:50 PM

75ft 25-26

thane_dogg 04-22-2007 4:58 PM

I think it's pretty funny that you people are telling a dude that he's riding too fast. It's very possible that he just wants to ride that way.

I've been riding 85 feet at 25-26 mph.

liquidmx 04-22-2007 5:05 PM

I agree Thane. I also think its funny how this thread is pretty much useless without boat information, weight etc.

00 vlx 75-80 ft at 26ish with 2200-2800lbs

00 SAN 80-85 ft at 26ish with stock weight + a sac or two.

wakedad33 04-22-2007 5:31 PM

Thane, the kid is 13 with basic wake tricks, unless his name is Jacob Valdez he is riding to fast. If he were riding at our wakeboard camp we would slow him down and am pretty confindent he would have better progression/results.

eternalshadow 04-22-2007 5:33 PM

21-23 mph, and rope depends on the boat, usually between 65-75 and the odd time as short as 60.

zuka666 04-22-2007 5:44 PM

22.5mph - 65ft line

wake_upppp 04-22-2007 6:15 PM

Where does it say all he has is basic wake tricks? If speeding up to clean up the wake is all he can do, then it's the right thing to do.
Oh, me, 75 @ 23.5 behind my boat.

(Message edited by wake upppp on April 22, 2007)

play3r 04-22-2007 6:16 PM

19-20mph at 75ft, I don't know how yous can ride so fast, I just hate the feeling, faceplants at 20mph hurt enough lol

wakeslife 04-22-2007 6:18 PM

22 mph
70 feet
X1 with a couple hundred over stock

wakedad33 04-22-2007 7:35 PM

Sparky, to answer your question, "where does it say all he has was basic wake tricks" on another thread he asked the question what is the deference between a Backroll & a Tantrum. Not disrespecting the kid, just trying to help him out. I still maintain 26 MPH is to fast for him. He is a Oregon rider & if he wants to roll over to Bend we will hook him up with some free lessons. Wakesetter PM me if your intrusted.

wake_upppp 04-22-2007 7:44 PM

It's all good. I thought maybe I missed what his skill level was. Speeding up to clear up the wake is better than hitting a crumbling wake though...

ralph 04-22-2007 7:50 PM

For me 04 Wakesetter LSV(the 23 footer)

Randy, thanks I'll ask my dad about the lessons. I'll PM you if he says yes.

robin_holland 04-23-2007 6:46 AM

Just start with the shortest rope length. When you jump constant over the second wake, you can make the line longer. That is how we work, until we found the right length.

wakedad33 04-23-2007 6:58 AM

Wakesetter, no problem, Alex will also be at the AWS demo days for HL on May 19th or 20th in Oregon City you can hook up for some instruction there also.

wakeparent 04-23-2007 7:09 AM

Randy, when do you leave for wakegames? sorry for the HIJACK...

wakedad33 04-23-2007 7:22 AM

wakeparent 04-23-2007 8:02 AM

kickflip_mj 04-23-2007 6:34 PM

depending on the boat 80 ft at 23.5- 24 mph,who knows though sometimes the boat will say your going 26 mph but with all the weight you are only going 23-24mph

beisbol20 04-23-2007 6:53 PM

dlwsrider 04-24-2007 8:58 AM

I judged mini outlaw at INT nationals this year and they had a kid go 25 at 55 or 60ft behind a brand new x-star. he looked so scared dude, me and the other dude that was with me did a double take when his dad said that

wakeeater 04-24-2007 10:50 AM

75' to 85' and anywhere from 23-26
depends on boat and rope length of the day
