Sochi 2014 Winter Olympics (spoilers)

Thought I'd start a thread that would be all inclusive of the games. ALSO to congratulate and wish the best to one of WW's own, Ryan Shimbukuro, who is at ANOTHER Olympics coaching our speedskaters.

I was up early to watch the US Women's hockey team take on Canada this morning. The US Women's team had some tough calls & no-calls today and that loss stung a bit, but they will see Canada again and I can't wait to watch again. (I still want to know what that ref saw on replay that told her the puck went over the line before the whistle on Canada's second goal)

Can't wait for the US Men's Hockey to hit the ice!

^^I'd say hockey is the only event I really care about with the winter Olympics. Too bad they don't include football (not soccer) in the Olympics. I'd love to see a "Dream Team" from the USA.

"Dream Team" from the USA...

Play who? No one else plays football.

I think all the downhill skiing is pretty fun to watch. Those guys catch some serious air on the Downhill and Super G. Crashes are pretty spectacular too. Hockey is great too, but usually only catch the last few games.

Nice run for the US Men's hockey this AM.... More offense that I expected, hopefully they can keep finding the back of the net, because they are solid between the pipes.

Eh you'll survive, not like it was the gold medal round or anything

Was anyone else tired of hearing about every athlete representing other countries that went to college in the US, live in colorado, train in Colorado and a lot even grew up in the US? So basically these are athletes that USA is pumping out. If you want to represent your country then live there and train there!

Oshie in Sochi!!!! Great s/o win for the USA Men's Hockey team today!

& no Ryan, doesn't bug me at all. I want to see the best, I could not care less where they train or educate themselves.

I am not a huge hockey fan(mostly because we have never had an NHL team in Seattle) but Oshie is a boss. what was he? 4 of 6 and actually completely beat the goalie on another but airmailed the puck. So cool and calm coming up to the goalie.

Thanks EJ!

Trainwreck for the RUS hockey team..... Wow, what a disappointment... Have to assume that all the pressure put on that team backfired....
