Well there are lots of viewpoints on this one.Honestly though patenting rounded corners on a rectangle?I've owned a samsung s11 for awhile and holding an iphone now the screen feels way too small.Would never go back to one!!Patent laws creat monopolies .Just because someone thought of applying something first that already exists in other forms shouldn't mean that only one company can ever use it.Swiping screens?Think of how many other aplications where a swiping motion already is used.Should all people who play rock and roll pay Chuck Berry royalties?The comparisons are endless.The ones who pay the most are the consumers.They wanted bigger screens ,Apple wasn't supplying which is one reason S1.S2.S3's are outselling the iphone.Snooze ya lose.Obviously i'm not an expert. just a consumer's opinion.

Software patents blow. The biggies like IBM, Oracle, and Microsoft own many thousands of patents. They use them for actions like this - to (hoepfully) sue their competitors out of business. The courts aren't equipped or qualified to litigate these disputes - and that's just the way everyone wants it. Sad.
