3's

What's the best way to do a 3? I tend to do a 270 when I attempt a 180 so should I just go for a 3?

Should I try a HS and TS 360 first?

Well I just went out and tried 3's on TS and HS. My HS almost made full rotation. I was really just focusing on the spin and not so much the handle right now.

I had better success learning the TS 3. I think I tried HS my first season because I was used to it from snowboarding, but the TS was easier to get consistent with. I started out doing them one wake, outside in. Dropped the boat down to 17 or 18, practiced some poppy, straight up 180's, then started trying the 3's. The oddest part about the TS 3 is how much I need to wait before you spin. Otherwise I tend to get off axis. Good Luck.

You should learn surface 360 first that will teach proper handle pass and axis to rotate it.skipping the basics just makes trick less consistent.

Yes I was told to do a 180 first, then when coming down from it, finish the other 180, but it just doesn't seem like that much air time. Yes, I thought TS was easier, but I didn't realize I was trying TS BS 3, so I will make sure I do TS FS 3 this weekend. Opps.

Thanks for all the advice!

on a ts bs 360 you would have less handle movement because the first 180 is untwist by handle moving from lead hip to rear hip then pass handle back to lead hand and pull to original lead hip. any 360 is a good wake jump 1st then a handle pass.the handle pass is what rotates you .your head turns in the direction you spin to increase the speed you spin. but your head should stop spining before you finish your rotation so you don't over rotate the trick.
