I was looking through Earmarks online store and saw these 8" Compression Horn Tubby

Now I've never been a fan of the tubby's or Bazooka in general this might be a nice inexpensive solution for some of the guys here.

Has anybody heard them? Are they even out yet?

if they are just compression drivers w/o any pro audio mid bass speakers , they will sound like absolute garbage.

They look to have 8in mid drivers.

Honestly, you can't confuse the performance of the Bazooka with a WetSounds.

However, the Bazooka does have some benefits beyond the lower price.

*In an open-field environment surface area is a big difference maker and the Bazooka has an 8-inch driver.
*The Bazooka uses a bass reflex enclosure. The tuning frequency is very high. But, when crossed over at 100 to 120 HZ the illusion of bass off the tower is impressive.
*This speaker is very easy to drive so you can use it with moderate power (an honest 75 to 100 watts per channel) and get good results. This fact adds to the speaker's cost effectiveness.

Along these same lines, in a week I'll post some specifics on the new Bullet Speakers 7.7-inch tower coaxials (non-HLCD).

David
Earmark Marine

I'm interested in how the Bullet Coax sounds and how it might pair with my HP's...I wonder if my wife would notice another pair up there?
