Dude, someone open a pro shop in ohio, or at least northeastern ohio.we don't have anywhere to go get boards and stuff except the marina's and the dealers(which only about one dealer has some of the stuff). I would start one, but I am only 14. So someone who wants to start a shop, move to northeastern Ohio and open one.

drewsnautique94 03-21-2007 4:07 PM

vandevere nautiques is sweet...great people great prices...ask for jason hoychik, tell em i sent ya..but for a "true" boardshop, its not gonna happen up here

97sunsetter 03-21-2007 4:14 PM

There are a couple here in SW Ohio. I always go to No Wake Marine, the local Malibu dealer because thats where the famliy got the boat and they have great customer service. Anyway they recently bought Mid-Ohio Watersports so maybe that is a sign they are trying to expand the wakeboarding scene some. I wouldnt rule out some new stuff opening up in the next couple of years.

metz213 03-21-2007 7:55 PM

Ya No Wake is awsome...the owners are real cool and everything..altho there about an hour from me and that my closet shop...they do have their new one up in Columbus

metz213 03-21-2007 7:56 PM

Hammer- I see you go to Norris..thats one of my main lakes..i love it there...ever been to one of No Wakes parties down there?

alliecat0223 03-22-2007 12:22 PM

Where are they at in Columbus. I will be there this weekend and I want to check them out. Plus so I can tell my buds that live out there, that there is good shop in town now.

97sunsetter 03-22-2007 12:48 PM

Matt- Yea man We went last summer, it was insane to say the least!

Allie- www.midohionautiques.com is the site, but they havent switched over to the Know Wake Marine site yet but its the same place. I havent been there in a while but also try www.nowake.com and see what you can find

phat_in_cincy 03-22-2007 1:08 PM

A new wake/snow shop opened up North of Cincy also (West Chester area). It's called G-Rides. ( http://www.grides.com/ ) I haven't made it up there, but I guess they are associated with the Supra/Moomba dealer there.

fox 03-22-2007 6:39 PM

Paul...G Rides is also down at Norris, I think out of Springs. They have an "association" with Lokota Watersports I think.

ironcross25 03-23-2007 6:14 AM

I live in the akron/canton area and my buddy works at Kames Sports in North Canton. They carry some newer stuff not much but he can order anything. I would love to see the wakeboarding scene get bigger around here.

power_rider 03-24-2007 8:15 AM

well some of you more northeastern riders might know this place better if at all, but do any of you ride on Pleasant Hill Lake. Because that is where i ride.

pnichols 03-24-2007 11:58 AM

G-rides has a pro shop in cinci and Norris lake @ springs dock. Bought my kids board there, good selection and they will match any internet price.

ironcross25 03-26-2007 5:44 AM

Pleasant Hill lake, isnt that by wooster? I may be heading there for a weekend this summer.

power_rider 03-26-2007 11:35 AM

Nick. it is about a half an hour away from wooster. closer to loundinville. and do you know when you will be going there. because we are there every weekend. and make sure to stay all day. in the afternoon there is a water volleyball game that we set up and it is really fun

ironcross25 03-26-2007 11:52 AM

Jared,
Not sure the exact dates yet. I plan on staying the hole weekend and a camp site so I will let you know when I am going. What is the best time to go and how many campgrounds are there??

bigshow 03-26-2007 8:34 PM

Allie, Know Wake in Columbus is right off of O’Shaughnessy Reservoir, the old Mid Ohio shop. Give Kevin a call at (614) 889-2666.

rkitz44 03-28-2007 10:15 AM

Know Wake on Glick road right across the street from the Bogey Inn for those in Columbus area. Hyperlite & Ronix Malibu dealer. Kevin, Danny, and Paul will take care of you. Ed put the number on the above post.

phat_in_cincy 03-28-2007 10:27 AM

If they are keeping the same name as the Cincinnati store it is 'No Wake' Marine...not 'Know Wake'. Might make it difficult to look up the phone #!

They don't have the Columbus contact info on their site ( www.nowake.com)

bigshow 03-28-2007 10:45 AM

In Columbus it's Know Wake, makes more sense for wakeboarding.

rkitz44 03-28-2007 10:46 AM

It is Know Wake in Columbus, says it right on the sign, same people they just varied the name for C-bus. The number is 614-889-2666. It is probabbly still listed as Mid-Ohio watersports in older Columbus phone books.

chqwakeboarder 03-28-2007 11:31 AM

Here's a NE ohio proshop 4 u: http://weboardshop.com/

ironcross25 03-28-2007 11:55 AM

alliecat0223 03-28-2007 12:10 PM

Ok guys here is the question now. When are we meeting up to ride LOL. I know once the weather gets warmer. I live in Indy , but on the weekends I will be in Columbus area. I almost live there. I go to a lot of the live local shows out that way. I will post the NWL competions for anyone if they want them.

bigshow 03-28-2007 3:06 PM

Allie,

I'm on Griggs Reservoir all the time, hit me up. I think I rode with Rick once in Matt's boat last year.

The Scioto Wakefest will be on July 7-8. I’m due to issue the event press release this week. You can see what we’re planning at the Scioto Boat Club web page: http://www.sciotoboatclub.com/

I'm in contact with Chris Walker with the NWL pretty often. The NWL schedule is posted on Bryon Greene's Web Site Here: http://www.wakeboardmidwest.com/

xbrdr1 03-28-2007 5:57 PM

Griggs has been officially kicked off for 07...as of this past Monday. 3/26. Air was 71 water was 57.

alliecat0223 03-28-2007 6:22 PM

I ride with Chris here in Indy for NWL, I know I was saying that this past weekend was boat weather. I will be in Columbus on Sat. What time I don’t know yet, since I will be going out to CBR’s for a show out there with the Blitz. Maybe if the weather is nice we can ride. I will be more than happy to chip in gas money.

bigshow 03-28-2007 6:51 PM

My boat is in the shop for cover repair and my dry suit still hasn't made it to me. I also just got an Fresh Air Exhaust system for the Mighty Centurion that I need to bolt on. I'm hoping to be on the water next week, sooner if the pieces fall together.

phat_in_cincy 03-28-2007 7:20 PM

71 + 57 = 128...that's boardshorts and neo top weather!
Congrats JK. Hope TK is runnin' well!

redsupralaunch 03-28-2007 7:29 PM

Allie Whats up girl!

Ed - Get with Allie and teach her how to surf - Google - wakeboarder, most willing to learn, fun to be with, always with great friends. It will lead you to Allie.

bigshow 03-28-2007 7:47 PM

Chris, I don't know about you're Google advice here's the top link that Google returned.
http://waterski.about.com/library/weekly/aa090398.htm

I'd be happy to give Allie a pull and giver a few wakesurf lessons, I need to get my gear ready for the season first.

alliecat0223 03-29-2007 9:44 AM

Its official now Im blushing. I cant wait to get back on the water after learning so much at the boarding school. Plus Im riding a bigger board a 144. Chris I cant wait for the season to start up. I will be trying to ride for Indy, Ky, and Oh this summer.

bigshow 03-29-2007 10:03 AM

A 144, that a big board!

Allie needs to break free on the 20th to 22nd and head down to the Lake Norris Ice Breaker. So far it looks like we'll have three boats towing, an X2, a 247 or LSV, and my Mighty Centurion. should have plenty of wake surf boards to try too.

OK, Chris can come along too.

rkitz44 03-29-2007 12:11 PM

144? That's a fat guy board. That's why I have a 144 and a 145. We'll be on Griggs April 20th on Larry's LSV.

bigshow 03-29-2007 6:06 PM

Heads up, April 7th is the Governors cup rowing contest on Griggs, That would be a good day to go to O’Shaughnessy.

alliecat0223 03-29-2007 6:32 PM

Shaun Maury got me riding the big board. I was riding the 144 roam board and it was so easy to get up and start to do stuff on. So we tried the 144 motive, I loved it. I was used to the shape since I was already riding the 134 divine. So its not much change just bigger board, no fins and new bindings. If you are a girl the rise bindings are awesome.
If the dates are in April, I know I cant come out till the 21. Since the 20 is family dinner/ sisters 21st b-day. Give me directions and I will come out there. An if there is a good place to crash at. I don’t have Monday class till 11am that day. So no hurry to get back. An I will let some of my buds that ride in Columbus know of the event
