ok so it is a nice day out, and it got me to thinking. What is the "scene" going to look like this summer. We got word that there might be another private lake up north, and paul (who got the free board) has more love than any one on wake world. Who has a boats, where do you like to ride? It seems to be like pulling teeth to get a pull round here. My family has a 21 foot i/o well craft. modified v hull, nice wake for a i/o. We ride at chatfield when ever we can. I have started a myspace page for hooking up rides in colorado, we will see if it works. Just trying to figure out how to put my money in YOURE pocket.

ldc 03-07-2007 9:43 AM

Has the ice melted yet!!!!

I have an 06 Centurion Avalanche spend most of the time at Cherry Crack. I actually live closer to chatfield but it seems like its always windy there and choppy. Plus half the lake is no wake for fishin.

I have access to a somewhat private lake up north but its near windsor, too far to drive so we stick to CC or peeblo.

dc

wake1012 03-07-2007 10:56 AM

Hey. My family has a 21 foot older i/o. We wakeboard at pueblo. Good lake to go to thats a little drive is Lake Mac in nebraska. I think thats a great idea to get riders together.

epic1 03-07-2007 12:10 PM

http://groups.myspace.com/WakeColorado

Trying to set up a riders link on my space. Check it out, join if you would like. I have only hit up lake mac once and it was windy all weekend.

kylielogan 03-07-2007 12:16 PM

we usually ride at sloan's, but i'm always up for a pull at chatfield or CC or pueblo from any of you! (gas $$ and beer included, of course ... um, not for you though paul!) i'll check the link. fyi, my myspace is www.myspace.com/kyliew2w and ya, it is gorgeous out today - i wanna go play, not work!

epic1 03-07-2007 4:40 PM

kylie, Sick pic in youre profile. Also youre link doesent work. Neither does yours dc.

kraig 03-07-2007 5:39 PM

Oh hell!! LOL!!!! Kylie, that pic is hilarious! Who did that for ya? Why didn't you send that to me? Love it love it love it! LOL!!

WakeAlliance: The scene here is pretty good. Sloans is a staple for alot of us and it's a great close place to ride. I am going to put on the third annual MileHigh Meet & Greet here soon and you're more than welcome, and encouraged, to come and meet people in the Colorado wake scene.

epic1 03-07-2007 5:41 PM

sick. give me a couple weeks notice to get the day off and I am in.

kraig 03-07-2007 5:44 PM

It'll be a Saturday for sure. Don't worry, everyone will have plenty of warning. I'll keep ya posted.

kylielogan 03-07-2007 10:23 PM

ya, for some reason my link screwed up today just about the time i was checking out your wake group. coincidence? or sabotage?? um ... i know when the M&G will NOT be - it will not be april 20-23, right kraig? cuz i'll be in vegas baby!!! oh - and if it's anywhere even close to may 3rd, bring my birthday gifts! oh - and kraig - it was courtesy of walt and amber wing.

(Message edited by kylielogan on March 07, 2007)

(Message edited by kylielogan on March 07, 2007)

epic1 03-08-2007 8:16 AM

yeah april 20ish is bad, restaurant opens that weekend. gonna be busy.

kylielogan 03-08-2007 9:30 AM

OMG! you're opening a new restaurant just to celebrate my birthday?! that is too cool! thanks! p.s. kraig - um ... MHM&G planning party at MY new restaurant after i get back from vegas???

milehighrider 03-08-2007 5:53 PM

there is nothing wrong with a planning party. april is to early for a get together on the water. lets let the water get warmer, my guess more people would show up.

kraig 03-09-2007 3:36 PM

The last two years we did the MHM&G (MMG) in May. First year was like May 9th or so. Last year was May 20th or so if I recall correctly. So it should be around the same time period. The later we go in May the warmer the weather and warmer the water. But mid-May is a nice time to get together to kick off the season.

kylielogan 03-09-2007 5:56 PM

um, okay, kraig ... but mike and i wanna know about the PLANNING party??? (you know i love you!)

kylielogan 03-09-2007 5:59 PM

oh and fyi - i was driving home tonite and saw my first guy of the season towing a boat!! it wasn't a wakeboard boat (a sea ray isn't a wakeboard boat, right?), but still ... A BOAT!!! as he was passing c-470 & wads i wanted to yell at him, "exit, exit!" but i figured he'd think it was road rage and call the cops on me. i would've totally jumped in the water though if he would've launched!

dnp33 03-09-2007 6:22 PM

lol nice profile pic kylie

kylielogan 03-10-2007 8:06 AM

thanks david - i do what i can. i think my new motto should be "if you don't have skillz, at least have friends with photoshopping skillz!"

o2binvallarta 03-11-2007 7:24 AM

Forecast says its gonna be 71 here tomorrow! Getting real close to being able to ride! Anyone braved it yet? I drove by Sloans yesterday and there didn't appear to be any ice on it.

WakeAlliance, what kind of restaurant are you opening? Where? When?

kraig 03-11-2007 7:42 AM

Bill- I bet you're itchin to ride!! Sloans doesn't open till late April I think. 71 degrees is an awfully nice air temp to go ride. It's a bit early, but with a new boat in the garage I'm sure you're willing to push the envelope a bit!

kylielogan 03-11-2007 8:00 AM

all this nice weather has me thinking about "the lake" at a-basin in the spring. i KNOW i can't ride my snowboard down the mtn fast enough to get across it ... but it made me think that it would be fun to try on a wakeboard!

o2binvallarta 03-11-2007 8:48 AM

My goal is to get out on the wakeboard next Saturday and then go up snowboarding Sunday, just to say I did it.

kraig 03-11-2007 9:01 AM

Been there done that and it's an awesome feeling! If you've been up on this side of the divide then you can say that you snowboarded and wakeboarded on the same water!

steve_jones 03-13-2007 8:19 PM

I almost had the rangers at Standley talked into a "test" run today. It was butter when I went for my run.

milehighrider 03-13-2007 8:37 PM

yo steve haven't heard anything on the private lakes whats up?

danadog 03-14-2007 11:32 AM

Been biking up at Horsetooth the last few days it still has a bit of ice on it.
The ice is getting dark and there is some open water around the edges so it won't be to long now.

(Message edited by danadog on March 14, 2007)

kraig 03-14-2007 6:04 PM

Steve- Did you get a pass at Standley?

milehighrider 03-14-2007 8:15 PM

my lake has no ice just waiting for opening day!!! 4/1

epic1 03-15-2007 10:48 AM

So which one of you handsome, talented, smart, guys is gonna let me fill you're boat with gas and cooler with beer?

merge360 03-15-2007 12:07 PM

Hey, hey Kylie..... Watch what you say about the Sea Ray! I love my 20'... Does everything that I need it to do.... Doesn't throw the biggest wake but I'm on the water and we're having a great time! If you ever make it to Houston, I'd be happy to give you a pull!

kylielogan 03-15-2007 2:03 PM

hey merge - ANY boat is a better boat than mine (which doesn't exist)! i'd ride behind a rowboat if it could go fast enough to keep me afloat, and last summer i got a pull from a houseboat! definitely if i ever get to houston, i'll beg for a ride!

blind 03-15-2007 2:21 PM

but kylie, would you not come see me in dallas first? I'd give you a pull! ha how you doing?

o2binvallarta 03-15-2007 7:21 PM

From the state parks page:

Boating - 3/14/2007
Chatfield still has ice on the lake and we are closed to boating. We will evaluate the ice conditions daily.

kylielogan 03-16-2007 7:31 AM

o2b - state parks ... bah. what do they know? i pass by it every day and the very west end of the lake is clearly water. i think a good boat driver can avoid the ice if they could figure out how to launch! and shane - yes, you're first. i just posted to merge to see if you'd get jealous. glad ya still love me!

blind 03-16-2007 8:08 AM

Kylie, a good driver could avoid the ice? your nuts!!!! You know I still do, buy the way did I tell you that my divorce is final!! "wink" "wink"

kylielogan 03-16-2007 9:58 AM

wow ... congrats, right? and just in time for spring/summer when all the chicks start taking their clothes off!

blind 03-16-2007 10:15 AM

I like the way you think!

kylielogan 03-16-2007 4:26 PM

ya ... to bad you can't do anything about it cuz you're "pledged" to me huh?

o2binvallarta 03-16-2007 5:27 PM

Chatfield update:

Boating - 3/16/2007
Chatfield still has ice on the lake. The lake will definitely not open Saturday but the staff will be checking for hazards on the lake. Sunday or Monday will be the opening day for boating.

May be going out for a midday brain freeze Sunday if they open.

o2binvallarta 03-16-2007 5:29 PM

Cherry Creek is opening tomorrow (3/17) and water temp is 42...which sounds a lot better than Chatfield's 34

blind 03-16-2007 8:51 PM

Kylie, I know, but your all mine!

kylielogan 03-17-2007 7:05 AM

true that shane! o2b - have fun in your new boat if you go out! i'm hitting tommy's and alpenglow today to find some warm pants to ride in. let it begin!! whoo hoo!!

danadog 03-17-2007 8:53 AM

Horsetooth is open and very cold

kylielogan 03-18-2007 5:04 PM

O2B - Did you go to Chatfield today? I drove by there a little while ago on the way to work and saw one jetski on the water and a couple boats pulling out. I was curious just how cold the water was?

o2binvallarta 03-18-2007 5:15 PM

Woo hoo! We actually went out to Cherry Creek because we weren't sure that Chatfield was open. We noticed a handful of boats on Chatfield as we drove by, but decided to go check out Cherry Creek instead. It was awesome, no pictures worth posting (definitely rusty), but we had a blast.

We saw another Moomba (Mobius LS) headed to Chatfield while were were driving home and chatted on C-470. If you're on here, drop me a line.

Oh, I went up to Loveland for a few hours yesterday snowboarding...mission accomplished!

Kylie, what are you doing working on a Sunday?!?!?

(Message edited by o2binvallarta on March 18, 2007)
