How does i/o wake differ from a tournament boats wake other than size?

Don't forget it's MUCH easier on the driver. Hard cuts pull I/Os around, and the I/O's inability to hold speed. Plus the danger of the exposed prop. <BR> <BR>Given the vast advantages of an I/O (namely the ability to trim and fuel economy), if skiboat manufactures could make it work, they would. <BR> <BR>The only I/O that threw a tournament quality wake was the Sanger ZX, and good luck finding one of those.

The pull behind a a inboard boat compared to a i/o or outboard, is the biggest diffrence, it just feels solid, you cut around and the boat pulls right back. the wake is also more substansial. My dad said he couldnt tell the diffrence between our old four winns wake, and the new malibu wake from in the boat. But when he got out behind the boat wakeboarding, he was saying the diffrence from the insidee of the wake to the out side was huge. He now understands the diffrence. ummm i duno if my ramblings helped, but if you can try and get a pull behind one, it is night and day.

Second point -- don't wake surf behind an IO.

Third Point-DONT wake surf behind an IO (aware that GD pointed this out, but it really warrants repeating)

the size really depends on the weighting. you could probably sac out an I/O big time and produce a nice rideable wake. what nerd said. oh yea, no surfing. I usually try to keep my limbs as long as possible
