think mine went today. Where is it? is the water pump the center pully? If it is the impeller, can I upgrade to a brass or something? ford 302. Thanks.

The water circulation pump is the upper center pulley. The water supply impeller is belt driven on the side of the motor low down. The circulation pump impeller is metal and not likely to fail. The supply impeller is easy to damage because it relies on being covered with water to cool and lubricate it. <BR>If you are overheating it's most likely the supply impeller.
