Custom Ballast Sac Pluming Help Please!
 

Last year I bought a custom Rear locker Sacs for my Tige '06 22Ve from Tigemike and I can't quite figure out how to plum them in. I am having problems trying to figure out how to drain the sacs. The drain for the sac is on the bottom of the sac instead of the back like I have seen on most.(see pics below) Mike sent me fittings to attach the pumps directly to the sac but as you can see on the pics that is not going to work in my case. Any suggestions from past experiences?

What pumps are you using? If they are the Johnson or jabsco pumps you should be able to fill and drain from a top port on the bag - per wakemakers. I think if you have to end up running to the port on the bottom, you would have to elevate the bag enough to get an elbow fitting on it - and not crush the fitting.

Did you buy a blem bag or order it specifically with a fitting down there? Strange place for a fitting - as you already know.

No, these are custom sacs for the 22Ve and I am using the standard aerator style pumps, one to fill and one to drain each sac. I thought about having a small platform to elevate the area around the fitting but I will never get it anywhere near fully drained.

I treid email Friday evening and I thought I would call him on Monday. The Tige site being down could not have happened at a worse time for me.

That's an interesting looking sac. I will be surprised if he doesn't respond to you today.

I looked back through to Thursdays emails and I do not see one from, you, sorry. Do you have my cell? its on the bottom of my email. Call me today if you like.

All wee need to do is a add a fitting in the lower edge of the rear panel so the drain hose can pass through the rear bulk-head of the locker where the drain pump is located. I will get those fittings out to you tomorrow. Adding a port is easy. Ive documented it on the TO and the Moomba site, as well as its gotten linked here. I can email you some pics and tutorial as well.

These sacs were specifically designed for the Tige Surf and Pro level ballast systems as an upgrade to the OEM 350# sac. The Surf and Pro option was introduced on the 2010 Tige model. This is why the ports are located where they are. These area plug-n-play swap and only takes a few minutes per side to do the upgrade.

These particular sacs were our first generation PnP sac and where left over inventory once the new design went into production. The current design has 3 additional fittings so the end user can either add extra pumps to his OEM PnP system, or the sac can be used in a plumbed-in install where no ballast currently exists. The current design has a port in a more traditional location.

Talked to Mike on the phone and he has me going in the right direction now.
