I dont understand the difference. Rusty recently landed an indy moby dick. Dean Smith lands a tantrum to backside 3. what?

ncsuuh 10-15-2009 6:39 AM

Moby Dick- Tantrum with a handle pass BS 3
Tantrum to BS 3- Tantrum, then a BS 3. Its not done in sequence with the invert like the MD.

lesstalkmoreride 10-15-2009 6:45 AM

Its all how you perceive it...call it what you will, sounds to be the same trick. Everyone is different though, both in execution of such trickery and perception...potato/potaughto
-Im sure they look different though; thats the beauty of style and individuality

eubanks01 10-15-2009 6:49 AM

Same trick...just with a later handle pass.

steelesrt 10-15-2009 6:50 AM

Moby is done on the way up. while a tantrum to bs3 is done on the way down.

roy_munson 10-15-2009 8:03 AM

thats seems kind of wack. rusty's indy moby dick looks like what you guys are explaining. if you grab the tantrum on the way up your going to have finish the rotation on the way down anyway. just my lousy opinion: id call it all a moby dick.

sidekicknicholas 10-15-2009 8:10 AM

Erik Ruck does a perfect Tantrum back 3
it looks nothing like a moby dick

hyperlite 10-15-2009 8:10 AM

ITS THE SAME TRICK, BUT LIKE THEY SAY ALL IN PERCEPTION. I LOOK AT IT AS THE SAME TRICK JUST DONE A LOT DIFFERENTLY.

roy_munson 10-15-2009 8:23 AM

can someone post a video a legit tantrum back 3?

behindtheboat 10-15-2009 8:33 AM

a moby dick passes the handle almost immediately, and doesn't have the "tantrum" over the back look. The T2B3 does the tantrum, and then to blind but with an additional 180 to make it a 360

garrett_cortese 10-15-2009 8:56 AM

Tantrum backside 3 @ 1:15
http://www.alliancewake.com/wake/derome-brothers-from-above/

Moby Dick @ 0:12 (first trick)
http://www.alliancewake.com/wake/rough-cuts-dylan-rivait/

hyperlite 10-15-2009 9:04 AM

THE SAME TRICK JUST DONE A LOT DIFFERENTLY. ONE HAS AN EARLY GRAB, THE OTHER A LATE GRAB. ONLY DIFFERENCE. FUNDAMENTALS ARE THE SAME.

txwakerider 10-15-2009 9:11 AM

I agree I dont think it deserve a new name it's the same trick just done differently, A roll to blind done passing the handle early looks completely different than a late handle pass roll to blind and they didn't rename the trick so why rename it in this case?

eubanks01 10-15-2009 10:47 AM

Agreed. Just like there shouldn't be a mexican roll to bling and a progressive roll to blind...even though they look very different.

wakeborder5 10-15-2009 11:31 AM

LEE HAVE YOU STILL NOT FIGURED OUT HOW TO TURN OFF CAPS LOCK YET???

bbr 10-15-2009 11:50 AM

I agree that the mechanics are the same, but it is not the same trick. I would be willing to bet that the T2B3 is much harder to do than Moby Dick.

txwakerider 10-15-2009 2:21 PM

Depends on who you are some tricks are easy for some people that are hard for others. The fact is though that it is a tantrum with backside handle pass 360 and that by definition is a MOBY DICK

czap 10-15-2009 4:16 PM

Do yall call a roll to blind with a late bs 1 a different name then one with an early bs 1?? didnt think so. Its a mody dick. Some people just like to call tricks by there technical names.. like calling a slim chance a front mobe

lfadam 10-15-2009 4:55 PM

I see why people do it, but its still a Moby Dick. I havent heard people call Indy crow mobes a indy frontroll FS 360, even though that is what it is. I feel like alliance likes to do this...I remember a come correct about learning a "TS Frontroll to revert" as in a scarecrow doing the FS 180 late.
