New Raley Trick?

I am wondering if someone has already come up with a name for this trick.. it is a similar motion to doing a scarecrow but instead of keeping the handle at your hip throughout the trick you basically do a raley with a frontside over the head 5.

I start almost doing this by accident when trying to take a few scarecrows deep into the flats and turned them into a raley but keeping a progressive cut i guess. If anyone knows that this trick already exists and I am just being dumb please let me know. Because if not i was to name it lol.. maybe the "Scaley" haha

irishrider92 08-09-2011 3:14 PM

So like a toeside S bend?

jason95gt 08-09-2011 3:42 PM

If it is like a toeside S bend, it is called a Big Worm I believe.

wake2blake 08-09-2011 4:04 PM

nah, a big worm is a crow mobe 5 without passing the handle. = http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rOwWJA3G7Jo

irishrider92 08-09-2011 4:13 PM

Nah big worm is more of a whirly motion than a crow 5. I think of it as a toe 180, switch whirly If you stop that vid at 0:42 it doesn't look like he's done a scarecrow, it looks midway through a whirly

cheesydog 08-09-2011 6:45 PM

What you describe if done properly would be a TS S-Bend. However it could be you are doing a really layed out crow into the flats. A true TS S-Bend off the wake is sweet trick but really tough to do it properly, you would have to take off, and then go the raley position, and then initiate the s-bend, as opposed to rotating immediately off the wake ala a crow.

Get some video, either way it would be cool to see what you're doing.

greg_smith 08-09-2011 7:48 PM

I was wondering about something similar. Has anyone ever done a heelside frontside s-bend? And no... very laid out backrolls dont count! Lol.

kyle_neumann 08-09-2011 10:10 PM

Thanks for the feedback. i think its just a really laid out crow since i get the board above my head before my chest is to the sky but i definitely still rotate off the wake a little..

garveyj 08-10-2011 6:04 AM

get a video of it - then we can see if it has been done before.

fabio 08-10-2011 6:48 AM

mark "turtle" macnamara used to do a proper toe S bend really well, a remember seeing a sequence of that on a wakeboard magazine long long time ago, he was riding a blue super squirt. naiiice

Texan 08-10-2011 6:57 AM

Oh man the super squirt. Pretty sure I rocked one of those for awhile.

Yup sounds like a laid out scarecrow. Have a budy who throws them off a double up that look S-bend ish.

cheesydog 08-16-2011 9:39 PM

Hey Greg what youre describing is a Hinterberger. More of a cable trick, but I have seen one guy here who throws them behind boat, freakin sick. He goes up full raley position and at the peak does the frontside rotation fully layed out, then lands.

Yeah man check out PB's section in Incomplete. He does a triple one at O dub I'm pretty sure with an elastic line

jarrod 08-17-2011 8:34 AM

CIE Allen does them. Scarecrow way out the back with the handle extended straight out. If I took a picture you would think it was an SBend, He also pulls them back to Elephant, which looks extra dirty.

waketx05 08-17-2011 4:22 PM

Kyle - Fredric Von Osten does a type of toeside loaded s- mobe in this vid http://vimeo.com/21536781 2:45
(also one of the dirtest cable sections i have ever seen)^^^

Greg - Diego Shaw does frontside S-Bends more known as Hinterbergers, He also does doubles.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1OiqjizEa4I 1:19

waketx05 08-17-2011 4:26 PM

Sorry.. On Diegos vid... 3:43 there is a Hinterberger, Sbends and a Double Hinterberger and a double s to blind and a double Hinterberger to fakie!! :O

d4m0 08-18-2011 3:20 PM

Oh Really - TS Raley with a FS 540
C7 - TS Raley with a 720

chillinoj 08-18-2011 8:48 PM

Thanks for throwing up those videos Ryan, they inspire me. also still sounds like a layed out scarecrow in my opinon

waketx05 08-18-2011 9:45 PM

Those videos, especially the FVO one, will get me pumped to ride cable any day...

greg_smith 02-20-2012 2:15 PM

Cool, I had no idea these frontside s-bend type tricks existed.

Wiatowski 02-20-2012 3:01 PM

Just out of curiosity, has anyone ever thrown a rotation, invert, heck even gone w2w in a cuffed position?

TheHebrewHammer 02-20-2012 6:15 PM

What do you mean by cuffed? Do you mean both hands behind the back? If so, check out Zane Schwenk's slurpee, originally called the cock and balls!

Wiatowski 02-20-2012 9:42 PM

Yes... you have a link?

oh he can still do them

petew 02-21-2012 1:16 AM

C5 = the laid out crow/toeside s-bend people are talking about.
C7 = the equvilent of above but to blind (720 rotation)
I have only ever heard the 9 variation described as a toeside double s-bend

most people just describe the tricks as toeside s-bends though

Video is cable http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZK2Xnt0E_ec

Kieran was also the first to do a toeside s-mobe on the cable

petew 02-21-2012 1:20 AM

Cisco thats either a 90210-7 if you would let him call it a raley trick if not then its a half load or ofaxis 720 depends on how you want to look at it. (tom fooshee)

sidekicknicholas 02-21-2012 6:36 AM

.... this thread has really shed light on how stupid wakeboard trick names are.

... without seeing the OP's trick I would say you're doing a really laid out crow.... I use to do them this way, mine were a hybrid ole'/laid out version but it became too hard to take it to a crow mobe for me so I had to re-learn it.

... but unless you raley first, I don't think its anything new.

sidekicknicholas 02-21-2012 6:41 AM

Does it look anything like this:
http://sphotos.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-...3581_954_n.jpg
http://a8.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphot...584_1682_n.jpg

stephan 02-21-2012 8:41 AM

Not sure what the OP has envisioned but I recall the sequence of Mark McNamara that was previously mentioned and it was certainly not an out the back Scarecrow. As a regular foot rider this is what he did. He came in on a very strong TS edge and after leaving the wake he would quickly do a FS 180 as he extended his arms and got his head between his arms, once extended(& essentially in a switch raley position) he would look over his left shoulder much like a traditional S-Bend, the primary difference was that he looked over his left shoulder instead of his right. He would rotate a full overhead 360 with both hands above his head and land right foot forward.

It was an awesome sequence and I will see if I can find it in an old mag.

gnarslayer 02-23-2012 8:07 AM

my big worm is kinda weird
