Got stuck in my canal for 3 hours because someone was transplanting a tree. I guess the good part was I had 30 minutes of shade for a change.

quit your crying, my boat is stuck inside for 6 months, and the lakes are frozen over here in WI!!!!!!!!! tell me again how rough you have it?

kal_dude

Arbor Day or Earth Day? I say Arbor because they are planting a tree. Earth Day is when you clean the canal of barge and diesel oil.

Ok its awful. We are expecting a cold front and the temps will drop from 80 to 40 overnight. I should just move to Sheboygan.

That's pretty cool. I didn't know you could transplant a tree that big. Must've cost a fortune.

srock 12-31-2007 10:41 AM

I've got one just like it my front yard. They offered my wife $20,000. If she reports that it got stolen while I was away, I'll check her ring finger.

My guess is 50 to 75 grand for a relocation. The mere cost of a decent wakeboard boat.

I would love a week of snowmobiling. I grew up north of chicago...just giving you a hard time. Thank god I left!

Hey Tim, you must live like right around the corner from me. Are those the Boynton/Ocean Ave. and G.Bush bridges?

goerlich 01-01-2008 8:42 AM

yeah... 12"-16" of snow here (about 30 minutes North of Detroit). Thankful for 4WD today.

srock 01-02-2008 6:15 AM

Yea, thats the Ocean Ave bridge to the North and Woolbright that's up. I was told the tree was headed to Star Island. I've been seeing more ski boats on the intracoastal from Ocean Ave down to Atlantic Ave.

(Message edited by srock on January 02, 2008)

Loyd,

The tree is not a mellaluca its a Banyon Tree. It's being relocated approx 75 miles south so I'll never see it again. If anything they look more like a ficus but the leaves are much larger and the root system more stable.

The State is trying to eradicate the mellaluca trees and they don't grow that big. They very evasive and have covered areas of south florida and the everglades.

Tim, you might have seen me out there once or twice a couple weeks ago. I have an 03 x2. I usually go in the fresh water, but my friends and I wanted to try out the IC. Had a lot of fun. Hit me up if you need an extra!

Been seeing more boats in the area. Its good riding from Ocean to Atlantic. Hope I didn't just jinx myself.
