otiswunguy 08-15-2007 4:54 PM

Labor day weekend is coming up quick. My destinations are as follows.

Wed-Aug-29- Fri Aug 31 @ Lake Pateros on the Columbia River. Thanks to Cliff for getting this organized again. I am trying to get it together so I can bring some sort of a rail setup over this year. I hope everyone is getting their tricks dialed in. Last year we had a best crash trying a new trick competition. This year, I think it should be for best new trick (something you haven't landed before) Everyone who is interested could make it more fun by throwing in 5-10 buck and winner could take it. Or other suggestions would be great as well.

Sat. Aug 1- Monday Aug 3- @ Crescent Bar resort on the Columbia river. I would love to get out for an early morning set if anyone has a spot on a boat. If not I am also down to meet some people and have a few beers.

Let me know if you will be at either place or if you have different plans in Washington, I would love to hear them as well.

liveoz 08-15-2007 6:18 PM

I'll share my itinnerary, because I can't wait for all that butter.

Wed-Fri at Pateros as well then Friday thru Monday on the houseboats on Lake Roosevelt.

seattle 08-16-2007 6:39 AM

Ehh...

I can take Pateros or leave it. I just get tired of crappy water conditions and all the crowds.

garyw 08-16-2007 2:12 PM

cliff, what is the head count for this year

ttrigo 08-16-2007 2:17 PM

Cliff,

I know I am a relative stranger, but how could I get in on some of that action for next year??

mattmundy 08-16-2007 2:41 PM

Desert AIRE, on the columbia river.

seattle 08-16-2007 5:40 PM

Gary,

I just finagled Ghostrider a couple rooms. I'm told we have the entire fire station side, and multiple rooms on the north end.

I've got the prizes for the King of Crash wrapped up now, and I'm working on the Saturday night BBQ potluck.

Mike is going to drag a 30' slider over and assemble it in front of the motel, and I'm going to try to fit John Fowlers kicker in the back of my truck to bring over.

Friday morning I have four tee times setup at the golf course starting at 9:30.

Thomas,

Anybody is welcome to this event. I'm out of rooms at the hotel for this year, but there's camping down the street or rooms about a 1/2 mile up the road at the golf course if you're interested.

garyw 08-16-2007 5:46 PM

Cliff, I dont understand "tee times" is that like pasture pool or something?????

tcluv85 08-16-2007 6:54 PM

Gary - Do you have room in the boat all day on Friday? Will you take a surfer? Not sure if I am bring Dylan or not.
I will be down (or is it up???) river Wednesday and Thursday. Then back to the west side for some labor day glass on Lk. Washington.

seattle 08-16-2007 7:20 PM

Laci,

your back in now?

tcluv85 08-16-2007 8:31 PM

not fully. Just Friday. I will be with other friends at another location the first part of the week, so I thought I would come for one day if I can get on a boat that will allow wakesurfing. But I still have to be back in Seattle area by noon on Saturday for family stuff.

mattmundy 08-17-2007 7:33 AM

Troy what golf course do you work at?

jjakober 08-17-2007 7:36 AM

A slider and a kicker!!! U guys R making it harder and harder for me.....

jjakober 08-17-2007 8:03 AM

Just talked to the wife...We're in!!

I know Gary likes Pacifico, but, Noti, and Cliff, what do you like?

Anyone else with a boat that would like to give me a pull, place your drink orders!

See you all on Friday!

(Message edited by jjakober on August 17, 2007)

goinbigg17 08-17-2007 8:52 AM

Wish I could take part!

I leave for Roosevelt today around 5:30 for the next 9 days.

Unfortunately Labor Day weekend I'm working and am forced into a BBQ with parents and the gf's parents....woohoo!

I'm going to have to try and make it next year, looks and sounds like a blast!

garyw 08-17-2007 9:35 AM

Laci, if we gotta surf, we gotta surf!

J. glad to see you coming

noti_dad 08-17-2007 10:24 AM

Darren and I will be surfing with the kids. Maybe Cliff will too.

Cliff - What about a long drive contest? I can bring some old clubs so everyone has the same chance. I have ALOT of old balls laying around. Could do it Friday night after golfing.

jjakober 08-17-2007 10:36 AM

Noti,

I'm not above surfing either!

flattirenotube 08-17-2007 11:07 AM

Is there anyway anyone would have room for one more. I was supposed to go to Powell and the stars didn't really align for that trip and would like to get out of the city for the weekend. I can help pay bring beverages, whatever. Let me know.

solo 08-17-2007 12:05 PM

OK here's what I have for schwag so far:

1. Arnette 4079 full house sunglasses in shiny black with polarized lenses

2. Jet Pilot Falcon Molded S/E Comp Vest Blue

3. 07 Obrien Zenon bindings black in a large

4. Complimentary subscription to Wakeboarding Magazine

That's all I got this year!

polarbill 08-17-2007 12:37 PM

Mike, I will be over at crescent bar all weekend. I am hoping I can pick my new(old) boat up this week and get it ready by then. If you don't mind riding behind an 83 stars and stripes with 1500#'s and a extended pylon. We will be partying mostly but might be able to make it out for a morning ride once or twice.

seattle 08-17-2007 1:07 PM

Patrick,

If you don't mind camping, there's room for you.

Jacober,

I got the ok on the kicker, I'm picking it up in the am.

garyw 08-17-2007 4:10 PM

Solo, you coming up this year???

otiswunguy 08-17-2007 5:00 PM

Brett- I will keep an eye out for you. My old boat was a prostar 190 with about the same weight as yours so I would happily take you up on it. Where are you staying?

What time are people getting to Pateros on wed? I am trying to figure out if I need to take the day off or if everyone is arriving in the evening.

As for the slider, I got a nice start on it today at work. I still need rope and some sort of anchor system. I think it could be a little tricky to keep them in place with the current on the river. Any suggestions?

seattle 08-17-2007 5:16 PM

Ya I know what you can use... Noti, for implying I'd ever surf.

I just as soon have my testicles removed with a rusty butter knife. The experience would probably be more pleasurable for me.

seattle 08-17-2007 5:20 PM

A little early to be playing weatherman, but the two week forecast looks to be an average of 75 degree days and 55 degree nights. Peeeeerfect.

polarbill 08-18-2007 9:47 AM

Mike, not exactly sure. My friends rented a 3 bedroom condo. I have never actually been to crescent bar. I usually go to my buddies cabin in Sunland. Hopefully I can get that boat by the labor day or I might kick myself in the face. I really do not want to be in Crescent Bar with no boat.

polarbill 08-18-2007 9:49 AM

By the way, we are having a pretty decent sale right now on gear if anybody needs anything. The Issaquah store has a lot better inventory though.

ghostrider_2 08-18-2007 7:53 PM

decent sale on?

(Message edited by ghostrider 2 on August 18, 2007)

mydoggus 08-18-2007 9:19 PM

I'm there from wed to sat but may have to be back to the west side early. If so my room will free up for friday night. I also should have some room in my boat for riders all days.

seattle 08-18-2007 11:27 PM

Adam,

Your in Pateros, or Crescent Bar?

john30 08-19-2007 6:52 AM

Sounds like you guys are gonna have a good time. Wish I could make it. I have to go in on the 22nd to see if my knee is gonna need surgery. Maybe I'll make it to the Christmas Eve run......

eaglejackson 08-19-2007 7:33 AM

Wish I could be there too. Sounds like it's going to be a lot of fun. I gotta take my daughter off to college then.

mydoggus 08-19-2007 8:26 AM

I'm at Pateros. I'm not sure if there is going to be an abundance or shortage of boats but I only have one other confirmed person with me at this point so I will either need another rider or would appreciate jumping on another boat.

seattle 08-19-2007 9:59 AM

jaegermaster 08-20-2007 6:29 AM

For those who have never been. There are 2 free launches within 200 yds of the hotel. Everyone usually pulls their boat at night due to the unpredictable currents and winds. The gas station is just down the street from the hotel so it's convenient to fill up in the morning before launching or in the evening when you pull your boat. There is ample truck/trailer parking at either end of the hotel. The Ace Hardware is also the local tackle shop and liquor store (mmmmm...Jaeger). There are 3 restaurants within 5 minutes walking and Brewster is only about 10 minutes away.

Anything I missed???

noti_dad 08-20-2007 11:31 AM

jaeger-You missed the truck/car wash, bakery, jerky house/meat market and the local lady that always makes sure you have everything you need.

Kenny-wash petty sure it was a v215, just didn't want to mis-rep you.

More pics from last year.............

otiswunguy 08-20-2007 2:47 PM

This is killing me, I can't wait. 7 boats and how many riders this year? In my opinion, last year it would have been nice to have a few more boats out there. I am not complaining I just remember that there were plenty of riders to go around and a few even getting left on the docks.
Adam- I would love to get a pull behind your S.S. if you end up bringing it.

jjakober 08-20-2007 3:18 PM

So how many of you are going to be there Fri-Sun. Sounds like some are heading out Friday?

Here R some pics from last year. garyw 08-20-2007 6:40 PM

Cliff, There is another couple coming that have reservations already, he and his son were there last year, Randall and Colton Smith dont know if you remember them or not, but they have a Malibu VLX that will be there also

Gary,

I remember talking to Randall last year I believe, glad their coming. Keep in mind all of these alternates are within walking distance of the hotel so it's not like you would be very far away.

hey everybody, sounds like alot of fun. I dont have a boat or know any of the posters, but I love to ride and have a good time. if this isnt a invite only kinda deal I would be intrested on joining in for a day or two, probally early before the weekend. if someone has a minute to fill me in that would be great. thanks dr

ghostrider_2 08-20-2007 7:19 PM

wife wants to know what will most of the wifes be doing? also are there any plans for family types events etc?

seattle 08-20-2007 8:00 PM

David,

Consider this an invite.

Kenny,

I don't have anything official for the wives or the kids. If any of the gals want to roll over to Chelan for the afternoon, there will be plenty of us left to watch the kids. As for the kids, they basically run themselves to exhaustion by the end of day.

ghostrider_2 08-20-2007 8:43 PM

We have an inflateble bounce house, its only 8x10 but some younger kids might enjoy?

Do any of the other wifes board? are/will they planning a women only runs/tubing?

tcluv85 08-20-2007 8:48 PM

Troy/Mike - Are you guys bring your women or another people with you this year?

noti_dad 08-20-2007 8:51 PM

Eagle - Wish you could join us and show what the MCs can do. On second thought, maybe not, wouldn't want the cc looking bad next to that x1. Better stay away. LOL!

Jakober - You know we're there the whole time. Wed-Sun is he only way we roll!

I know my wife and another will be out riding. Our little one will probably be on the boat skiing, surfing and maybe riding. The tube will be lost and left at home (tee hee, sorry you'll have to ski). For any girls wanting to ride Mrs. Noti might be taking the boat out for a girls ride on Sat or Sun.

ghostrider_2 08-20-2007 9:13 PM

Noti,

My wife would enjoy hanging out with other women on the boat since normally she's only out on the boat when its a family day. Not many if any at all board on Whidbey Island.

ghostrider_2 08-20-2007 9:15 PM

Unfortunely I have to bring our 2 man tube since we have other family coming thats are just getting into boating/boarding. I want to teach that if you tube how to STAY AWAY for boarders and tearing up the BUTTA!

eaglejackson 08-20-2007 10:54 PM

Have you guys tried the wakekite yet? Dave from Adrenaline has one. I've ridden with him a couple of times when he's used it, including yesterday. Another fun toy to add to the quiver.

The pictures you posted look nice, but I think I will find some decent water at Roosevelt

Laci,

Of course Jenn will be working that week and weekend. I won't be there over the weekend though, we are playing golf Friday morning then heading east to the Houseboats.

tyler97217 08-21-2007 8:28 AM

hey guys where are all of these spots in relation to the George Gorge. We will be up at Dave Matthews for that weekend, but only going to the show one day and people talked about boating on the Columbia while we are there???
Let me know if it is anywhere close or way off?
Is it worth bringing a boat to the concert and then hitting the river?

noti_dad 08-21-2007 9:01 AM

We'll be atleast an hour and a half drive by car north of you (Pateros is north of Wenatchee and Entiat by 30-45 mins, 20 min east of Chelan). But Creasent Bar is really close and there will be a ton of action going on there that w/e. Look further up the post, Mike and Adam are going to be done that way over the w/e.

helinut 08-21-2007 9:11 AM

You're 1.5 hours to Pateros from the Gorge. You're probably about 30 minutes to Crescent Bar or the old Vantage Highway launch. I hear Crescent Bar has become quite the party spot nowadays.

(Message edited by helinut on August 21, 2007)

seattle 08-21-2007 9:21 AM

Diggs,

Your pretty far south of us at the gorge. You can launch your boat and run up river from Vantage if you want to listen to the concert from the water. I would rather go to the concert itself considering there will probably be a billion swooning chics at a Dave Mathews concert.

tyler97217 08-21-2007 9:45 AM

yeah i really have no interest in bringing our boat into that lot either, but the idea has been considered....
how well do you hear the music from the river?

You can hear it real well. The atmoshere down on the river during a concert ie visual partying is awesome. There's a great spot on the shore where everyone can pull up and tailgate.

Cliff are you counting Jeff/Bryan's boat? I think that is a Moomba of some sort. Troy just emailed me that gang will be there Wednesday, Thursday and leaving Friday. Which you probably already knew about.
