bilge pump location.... surfing both sides

I posted this in the sanger v230 thread but didn't hear anything. My bilge pump is in the stock (along stringer, starbord side). If we're surfing regular, water gets pretty high in the bilge before it kicks on. should I move it further back toward transom?

Why would you want to do that? More water in the bilge on the surf side is just more ballast! :D

normally I'd agree!!

Black scorpion engine sits rather low in the bay. pulleys start throwing water on everything, can't be good for life of the belt or everything thats getting wet.

I installed a second bilge pump on the port side of my Enzo. All that water in the bilge would splash over the fan belt causing squeaks.

I'd either do a second on the other side or just relocate it more towards the center.
Where's all the water coming from if it's taking on so much? Just the normal seepage, or do you suspect there may be something else, like a leaky hose, rudder packing, etc?

I don't think anything's leaking. I often pull the plug to find ZERO water in the bilge. When I'm not driving, we take on just a tad over the transom when we come off throttle. That and normal shaft packing drip is what I'm thinking.

I'm thinking more centered and toward the transom will get me there.
