Need a pull 8/27 knoxvile behind x-star

I need a pull in knoxvile anytime on Friday behind a x-star in the knoxvile area. Will pay for gas!

My thoughts exactly.
I'd be lucky to find a boat on my lake that even has a tower on it...

Just a guess but odds are that he's gonna compete and the competition is using an X-star.

denverd1 08-21-2011 10:23 AM

then he should be a little better connected....

She*

And even then she's asking a lot. I wish I could practice on the exact boat I wanted for every competition.

Well don't just wish, ask! If I had a x-star in knoxville I would hook her up no problem. IME Everyone who competes regularly has this situation come up semi often and are usually happy to help each other out.

Cool man, I like your attitude!

However, I can't imagine it would be terribly helpful. There are just so many variables with contest boats, especially at low-level amateur events. The ballast setups and the underwater features of the contest site can change the wake so much. In my experience, the wakes I ride on at contests are rarely perfectly dialed.

I rode behind the same X15 at two consecutive INT tour stops and the wake was completely different each time. My strategy is to ask other riders what speed they're riding at and how they feel about the wake and adjust accordingly. I also like to watch the wake from shore and see what it looks like at different speeds.

After the first hit of my run, I can usually tell if I've guessed right or not, and I can signal for a correction from the driver or change the tricks I'm doing to better suit the wake.

She'll be competing in the pro tour in Knoxville. She's 13 and she rips!

Peter- Thanks for all the info you gave my dad this weekend!!!

I can ride behind a Supra that day however, I thought MAYBE someone in the area would be out and had an Xstar because it's been a few weeks since I rode behind one.

Its funny how people have to make this all about them. If you could help her out, cool. If not, no need to reply making assumptions about her situation.

Sorry its actually Friday 8/26 I typed this on my phone and just now seen it.

Hi Taylor. I'm the president of the University of Tennessee wakeboard team, and we have MasterCraft as a sponsor and an x-star at volunteer landing marina (next to the event location). I'm sure we can get together and give you a pull. Contact me at jriddick@utk.edu.
