I am thinking about getting a new board and the 07 transcend looks interesting. I am currently on a 134 04 absolute. I was looking for opinions on the 07. I am torn between getting a 06 platinum transcend or a 07 regular core cause I don't think the platinums are available yet. I have the shop I usually get my stuff from checking on the 07 availability.

Stan, have you considered the absolute platinum in a 141?

i got in trouble with CWB, i wasnt even think that when I posted them andrew was riding his new board. I was just really stoked on the pictures. so i got in a little hot water, but its all good now.

I really really want the 07 transcend, sounds like it will be faster which is something I really want but I cant decide between the plat or reg core.

I weigh about 155. I would like a bit faster board. I am currently riding at like 25mph and would like to slow down a touch. If I don't ride fast I seem to bog down on toeside jumps. I am trying to stick a toe 7 and have a hard time with the handle passes at 25pmh.

The 04 Absolute 134 is much faster then the 06 Transcend 138.

Stan, the 05/06 plat is much faster than the 04 in my opinion, some disagree.....still think you should try it.

Well Scot the 07 Tanscend wont have a platnium version untill next year, so if you want an 07 Transcend sooner then that you will have to go with the reg core version.

Mike I would have to disagee with you on this one. <BR>The 04 Absolute mold is faster then the 05 06 Absolute. When the changed the rocker from 2.45 on the 04 to 2.90 on the 05 06, it slowed the board down a tad. I would still say to Demo the 05 06 Absolute its a great board.

Ok, I rode the 06 transcend platinum. I liked the board alot but it was way slower than my 04 absolute. The board had decent pop, but I was expecting a little more. I had to work really hard to come into the wake. I have a very short cut smooth style and with this board I had to take bigger cuts with it which I didn't care for. The landing were very forgiving and solid. <BR>I plan to demo a 07 transcend this week hopefully it will be a little faster.

It will be faster, cause they took out some of the rocker to speed the board up.

I have the 07 trancend and it is sick, Good pop and good landings. I am looking forward to getting some more time on it to feel it out all the way. Compared to my 05 Absolute Plat. it is not much heavier. I can only imagine how light the Plat. version will be.

I tried out the 07 Transcend this weekend and it was off the chain.The first time I cut into the wake it threw me straight up,I got a nose bleed I was so high.Definately a sweet board.I still want to try the new parks before I buy a new board.Very happy with the Transcend 138..

I saw a few 07 Transcends at a local board shop, but they told me they weren't "supoosed" to be selling them yet so I won't say the name of the shop. The board looks effing sick though! And if you were to throw some 06 zeus on it, it would look so dope.

The Plat is supposed to be 1lb lighter, but it feels even more so than that. <BR> <BR>As you say, it is "off the chain".

I rode the 07 transcend 138 this past weekend about 6 times. I like the board alot. I am going to buy it. Good timing on this thread coming back up cause I was going to search for it and give my update. <BR> <BR>The board is way faster than the 06 transcend. I didn't feel like it was bogging down at all like the 06 did. The pop was as good as the 06. I don't think that the pop is mind blowing or anything. I would say it actually rides alot like my absolute does. I rode it without the extension fins for most of the weekend. It was a little looser on the landings than I am use to without the extensions on. I took a couple of hard falls which I usually don't take. One was a toe 3 that buttered around on me and I caught a front edge. Didn't come out of the binding but I was wishing I did. <BR> <BR>With the extensions on it felt much more stable on the landings. I am use to a pretty tight board, I ride the absolute with the center fin. Unfortunately where I ride it is usually choppy and I need the extra tracking. The landings are soft with the board. It releases of the wake nicely. Overall I was very happy with it and just need to get a few more sets in on it. <BR> <BR>I did also test the PS3 and was very close to buying it. I only rode it once but had a great ride on it. I am looking forward to riding it again. <BR> <BR>Here are a few pics from the weekend with the transcend. I was actually looking at that board also, I ride the 06 Murray, great board just seems a little slow/sluggish when on edge, maybe cause the rocker. <BR> <BR>(Message edited by ghostrider_2 on August 14, 2006)

I've been riding the Byerly 137 and recently tried the Transcend. I was surprised that the Transcend was not to loose. It felt very good. I have been wanting to ride a different set up and I think I have found one. Now I just have to decide on the factions or the Zeus.

Zane- you should get CWB to make another size absolute. I really wanted something a little bigger than the 134 that I was riding and the new 135 wasn't big enough, but I also didn't want to jump to the 141 range. That is why I choose the 138 transcend. I really enjoyed the absolute shape I have been riding for the past 3 seasons. <BR> <BR>Scott- If you are going to be at the midwest get together at Murphy's place in Sept I will have the board with me there I am sure and you are welcome to try it out. I'll be trying out the Transcend tomorrow. I've been riding the Absolute since it was introduced and think its the best board on the market. I have heard the Transcend is similar on the water. <BR> <BR>Zane-- what the hell....not out here for waterski nationals huh? Your really missing out. Rode the Transcend 138 this morning and had a blast!!! I liked it better finless for sure! The board is faster than the current model. Pop is good, nice landings, holds an edge well. I rode the Absolute 141 platinum last year--this year the 142 platinum Transcend--I think the 2007 is more of a blend of these two boards. If you get a chance, give it a spin. I hope to ride it again tomorrow---can't wait for the platinums to arrive!!

I will try to hook up with ya at Murphy's shindig, but I am not absolutely positive I can make that, sooo maybe sometime I will try and make it out to okauchee.
