It is about way too late to ask...how would you compare the sound of the Tyrants to the Addictions? <BR> <BR>Were you running both?

I was running both on the tower, personally I like the tyrants better. Much more sound and depth.

...and they did sound super clean. I'm still thinking about doing two 485's though.

Duane sounded a little concerned about the amplifier I am using because it is a beast. The PPI PCX 4125 can put out 500 watts each to the Addictions, which is too much. But I keep the gains down some and have never had an issue. <BR> <BR>But he says now I can turn the gains up. <img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/clipart/proud.gif" border=0> <BR> <BR>You couldn't go wrong with the 485's, but I think I got a smokin' deal for under 1K. I will be sure to post a review.

I got my Tyrants a few days ago. I immediately put one up and compared it to the Addiction by fading from right to left. All I can say is 'yeeehaawww'. The sound quality is terrific, and there is a definite bump up in volume as well. The Addictions have been plenty loud, but this will truly rock the lake! <BR> <BR>And that is still with my gains set a bit low!
