Warriors.... Time to Plaaay-aay....

The countdown has begun! Maiden voyage of the new V232 this weekend. Weather in northern Wyoming is about a month ahead of schedule and water temps are in the 4:eek:'s. Guess I'll have to break out the dry suit...

Any others out there launching early this year?

Guitarcrazy 04-17-2012 12:52 PM

It is warmer than usual here in Montana as well. May be bringing the B-52 23V to Holter Lake for the Maden Voyage this weekend as well. No dry suit, but I do have a wetsuit and a hot shower!

We have been in the water about 6 weeks now . Water temp on lake Lanier varies between 65 and 74 degrees. A far cry from Lake Michigan at 51 degrees last week.

Been out three times in the last month, water temp last week was 55 here in the PNW

We got out for the first time in Portland last weekend. Air temp 65 and water temp 53.... Soon enough.......

Wisconsin last week we hit mid 70's air temp so rode... water was about 52*.... I took like a 15/20 minutes set with a heater top and was fine through the whole thing.

My brother surfed in a vest and shorts for like 20 minutes too.

What lake are you hitting in Wy?

dukeno1 04-17-2012 2:02 PM

Damn I'm old because I actually got that warriors reference!

Saturday is supposed to be around 89 degrees in SoCal. I may still need a wetsuit... :)

Chris, we're headed to Lake DeSmet. Love that place. Tim, I can still hear the clinking beer bottles in the background....

This was from 3 weeks ago on the Kaskaskia River here in Illinois. The water was crazy warm for this time of year in Illinois. We've had some more seasonal temps, so I would assume it's back in the high 60s now. I'll take high 70s in March anytime!

You also can't beat a Monday afternoon on the river in March. We had this exact view for 10 plus miles. Only saw 1 boat in 3 hours.

Hit up the Sac. River last week. Brrrrrrrrrrrrrr. 54 degrees. Anything below 50 starts to hurt after awhile. Major shrinkage.

If it wasn't for those Baseball Furies, we would have had good water too. :D

Nick, 90/77 sounds perfect! especially this early in the season. Do you use the New Athens boat ramp? I get out to Troy IL couple times a year because thats where my parents live and I go surfing on the flowrider in Collinsville.

ReSession 04-22-2012 4:01 AM

Air temp = 34, water temp = 43 in VT this morning...impatiently waiting for our season still a few weeks out!

I hear you Greg, it's 44 here in southwest Michigan today, and the wind is HOWLING!
