I have a couple of broken boards I'd like to make a wakeboard bench with. If you have one post pics please. I want ideas for frames.

If you can find midwesthouse send him a PM - he did a pretty good job on one.

ride_4_life 11-22-2007 11:40 PM

One me and some buddies made from some broken boards from a local shop <BR> <BR><img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/messages/65919/521538.jpg" alt="Upload">

I'm good friends with Dave Williams and we've been reciprocating favors for the past 18 years. This is a wakeworld wakeboard patio swing for his palapa, sorry if it's misspelled. Spellcheck didn't have any suggestions either. It's not finished yet but Dave directed me to this thread. The ropes are for testing purposes only and that logo will be centered on the board as soon as I get the plate to fit. Merry Xmas Williams' <BR> <BR> <BR><img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/messages/65919/521858.jpg" alt="Upload"> <BR><img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/messages/65919/521859.jpg" alt="Upload"> <BR><img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/messages/65919/521860.jpg" alt="Upload"> <BR><img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/messages/65919/521861.jpg" alt="Upload"> <BR><img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/messages/65919/521862.jpg" alt="Upload"> <BR><img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/messages/65919/521863.jpg" alt="Upload"> <BR><img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/messages/65919/521864.jpg" alt="Upload"> <BR><img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/messages/65919/521865.jpg" alt="Upload"> <BR><img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/messages/65919/521866.jpg" alt="Upload"> <BR><img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/messages/65919/521867.jpg" alt="Upload"> <BR><img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/messages/65919/521868.jpg" alt="Upload"> <BR><img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/messages/65919/521869.jpg" alt="Upload"> <BR><img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/messages/65919/521870.jpg" alt="Upload"> <BR><img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/messages/65919/521871.jpg" alt="Upload">

That is awesome brett, who did the welding? it looks great

rnopr8 11-24-2007 7:37 AM

Brett that is great. You should set up shop and make a few hundred. I'll take one <img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/clipart/happy.gif" border=0>

wakeworld 11-24-2007 8:30 AM

Yup, I have to agree that this thing is pretty amazing! Brett does all the welding himself. I can't wait to hang it up and try it out!! I'm falling way behind on the reciprocation scale with this one! Thanks Brett!

ridetillurdead26 11-24-2007 10:43 AM

please tell me those boards were broken

bendow 11-24-2007 11:18 AM

wow...that's awesome Brett. I don't think I have the skills or the resources to build something like that .

hawk7 11-24-2007 12:35 PM

I second what cody said.

wakeworld 11-24-2007 5:00 PM

Yes, they were warranty boards that were no longer sea-worthy!

crack 11-24-2007 7:26 PM

I love the look but I really dont think that I could drill through a board without breaking my heart (unless it was truly thrashed). <BR> <BR>Anybody keep their bench boards usable? Sit on em in the winter and ride em in the summer.

midwesthouse 11-25-2007 12:55 AM

I made mine to work that way. It's a perfect bench in the winter time and come summer I take out 4 bolts and the boards are good to go. (the bench is the wood one above)

ridetillurdead26 11-25-2007 10:01 AM

well in that case dave <BR> <BR>beautiful benches guys

drewsnautique94 11-25-2007 1:55 PM

wow- two newer ronix boards..what was wrong with them

wakerider111 11-25-2007 3:38 PM

i think i am going to do something like house did... especially for the retired boards... though retired, i don't have the heart to add new holes

slowake 11-25-2007 8:04 PM

check out <a href="http://www.benches.com" target="_blank">www.benches.com</a> I got the picnic table kit and mounted boards to them and they flip up to make a table bench of able to sit on top of them. Sorry I don't have any pics.

tuffenuff 11-25-2007 8:39 PM

Brett, you are the modern day McGiver! Awsome job!!

ride_4_life 11-25-2007 9:38 PM

i just used an old patio bench out of my buddies back yard, took it apart and just used the 2 uprights and bolted the boards to it, worked like a champ

bdavis 11-25-2007 10:55 PM

Thanks for the compliments. It's always nice to have a project turn out as good as you expected, in this case even better. The boards have cracks in the gel coat and I think the core maybe broken on one. They are retired but will still be ridden by seņoritas with margaritas. Dave said he wants some drink holders, why didn't I think of that? <BR> Geri, I've put a few things together as a hobby but if I had to make the same thing over and over I'd hate going into my garage. I'll post it up again when it's done. <BR> I think jeff has the right idea, just look for a frame already made that may work.

kingskrew 11-26-2007 5:16 PM

Here's mine: <BR> <BR><img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/messages/65919/522486.jpg" alt="Upload"> <BR><img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/messages/65919/522487.jpg" alt="Upload"> <BR><img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/messages/65919/522488.jpg" alt="Upload"> <BR> <BR> <BR> <BR>They're for sale if anyone in the SD area is interested! <BR> <BR>-Steve

wakedad33 11-26-2007 7:23 PM

Steve, where did you get the frame work?

kingskrew 11-26-2007 11:13 PM

Randy, some closeout site online. I don't remember where exactly, but if I do remember I'll post it. If I remember right, they ran out anyway. <BR> <BR>-Steve
