"this is a high end restoration done by the pros"

...but they mounted the tower backwards?!

They put the tower on Malibu style...I hope to God the back of that thing was beefed up big time to accommodate the pull on the transom.

bill_airjunky 05-04-2009 6:43 PM

Wonder how that swim platform will look in a year or so.

That's one big shiny anchor...........

Haters! I like it.

You guys crack me up.

Someone comes up with a fairly nice update for an old 85 Mastercraft and you shoot it down. Ok... maybe the tower looks a little different on backwards, but remember when Bu's towers first came out? I don't know enough about the Switchblade, but if the transom is beefy enough it would be interesting.
It definitely looks like someone knew what they were doing when they put it together..
Overall...I like it.

.

(Message edited by kirk on May 04, 2009)

Masterbu?

Malicraft!!!

I feel bad for that hull. Hopefully both teh upper deck at tower mounts and the transom were beefed up. Besides that, why would you put a tower on a surf boat? Curious to see how it surfs.......

spencerwm 05-04-2009 11:49 PM

I saw that boat at Surf Expo two years ago. The custom stainless steal guys make the switch blade. That boat was used to demonstrate their product.

The tower is strong. It was reinforced with huge backing plates under the mounts. It is stainless steal and probably one of the most solid reverse swoop towers I have seen.

Everything on it is stainless and the swim platform is clear which was kinda weird. From the videos I saw the surf wake was big. They had the switchblade and two crazy huge trim tabs on each side to get the boat to lean without ballast.

Looks bad ass... no idea why you guys are hating.

Nice restoration project and a very unique boat for that kind of scrilla...

trickyboarder08 05-05-2009 8:09 AM

i bet it get's no bids.

But I like it!

dirtysparks 05-05-2009 8:39 AM

Got to be careful jumping in off the platform, you could sheer your foot off! Other than that it's not bad.

Looks like he robbed a butcher shop and put a meat cleaver and the cutting table on the back of his boat. That boat is f-ing awesome! I wish this boat was in Cali, I would take it out to the lake, pull the plug, and let it sink

lovin_the_wake 05-05-2009 2:50 PM

I wouldn't buy it but I'd ride behind it, Sometimes ugly is good
