It's official: I have now seen it all.

whitechocolate 01-08-2004 12:36 PM

WoW I would be un-hooking the chopper from the boat faster than you could say anchores away

cdm 01-08-2004 1:55 PM

Wow is right... I think it could have worked with a MUCH longer tow line. I wouldn't try it, but I'll watch..

moe 01-08-2004 1:59 PM

gives an all new meaning to the words "prop wash"

jonb 01-08-2004 2:10 PM

that has to be one of the funniest things that i have ever seen

trace 01-08-2004 2:14 PM

someone sent me this last week. i think the problem is that they tied the tow rope to the skid on the left side, so the harder the chopper pulled, the more off balance it got. idiots. funny as hell, though.

matt_dettman 01-08-2004 3:54 PM

Just when I begin to think mankind is actually making progress, s$^# like this happens. My jaw dropped when I watched this! Possibly the dumbest stunt I have ever seen! Good thing no other boats were in the way! Would have given the word "chopper" a whole new meaning...

peeejay 01-08-2004 4:02 PM

malibususpect 01-08-2004 4:30 PM

I'm a pilot and I cannot believe that guy has a license to fly. F-ing idiot....could have killed someone.

kenv 01-08-2004 9:45 PM

Watch the video again and you will notice something strange. First the motor is up, then down, then up. At first glance, I thought they were putting the motor down to steer when being towed - but the last shot has the motor up. It seems too fast. Not saying it is doctored, just a keen observation

sprucie 01-09-2004 8:53 AM

No one ever said you have to be smart to be a pilot. Not directed at you Scott.

is Darwinism on Vacation???

just like the idiot that sat on the windshield of his truck vid that was posted a few weeks ago...

how do these ppl survive???

hatepwcs 01-09-2004 11:44 AM

Dollars to donuts the guy didnt have an external load rating.

monstertower 01-09-2004 7:50 PM

I think he should have gotten some practice towing boats first. I hope his new job is going well :-)

01-13-2004 9:16 AM

Bruce,
Not offended, but there's a difference between being smart and making smart decsions. This guys a moron in both worlds. The decision to pull a boat with a helo is something that is required to have prior planning and approval. Gaurantee that was not a planned operation and that helo isn't rated for it.

sprucie 01-13-2004 6:01 PM

Scoot it looked like in the video the pilot nearly puts it in the drink while approaching the boat on the right.
