i have already asked the question so sorry to repeat it but nobody really replied.

has anyone ever tried putting one fat sac on top of another in the back compartments? i have an xstar and was planning on putting a 250 lb on top of a 350 lb. think it will move too much or put a lot of pressure on the side wall that seperates the engine compartment?

I'm not sure I would place the sacks right on top of each other. I'm not sure the seams of the bottom sack would hold up over time with the additional weight placed on it.

That being said, you could construct a table or platform that the bottom sack could fit under and the top sack could sit on. You could even build the sides up so it would prevent the sacks from pushing out the side panels or rolling around. I think this would be much safer than stacking the two sacks.

Why not sell the four sacks you have and buy 2 550lb sacks? Much safer.}

I would think it would be fine. Being an owner of a fat seat, I can attest to the durability of the sacs. If multiple ppl can sit and climb on them without the seals and/or valves leaking, then I would think that one on top of the other wouldn't be a problem. Just my take on it.

brian - i thought about building something to prevent the pressure on the sides. but hadnt thought about the stacking part.

chase - i was just worried about having to fill them halfway every time i had a lot of people in the boat and trying to decide on if there was equal amount of water on each side. when i have that many people i wouldnt want that hole sac filled. that was why i was leaning towards two. either fill one completely when there is a lot of people or fill them both when not.

I used to fill my 540lbs sacs 1/2 to full equally by using two of the same pumps. Started and stopped them both at the same time. Saved time and the sacs were always filled up evenly. I told people inthe boat to move around to fix wake wash. I hated filling and emptying sacs and would hat filling two sacs per side!!! I would get the Large bags and use the two pump method.
