Bigger board
 

I'm 6'4" 215-200lbs. Been riding a hyperlite Premier 140cm for the first month of the season. Last night i got to borrow a friends LF Trip 143cm... Man it was like night and day... i now understand what POP is i dont have to work as hard as i did on the 140cm and i dont get tired as easily... Thinking of either going with the Hyperlite forefront 144cm. Or the Ronix ONE 146cm... or the Vault 144cm. Thoughts on which one i should go with? I dont really have a "style" yet i'm still relatively new to wakeboarding. Been doing it on and off for 5 years now, but this year i have a boat and live on a lake so i go as much as i can. Cost is negligible at this point they all are going to run me between 180 and 220ish for the 2011s. But that is my budget if you know of any other boards out there that may be better.

I've got no experience with new hyperlites but I'm on my third ronix and they never disappoint

So what is the difference between these 2 boards then besides the extra 2cm. and is the 2cm going to make a big difference. b/c just going from 140 to 143 i dont know if i ever want to ride my 140 again.

If you notice on any sizing chart the weighs kinda cross over from size to size cause some of it is preference. I'm a little guy so I ride little boards. My first ronix was the original one 137 and I felt like I has to throw it too hard so I got a 136 viva and loved it. I even have a 135 Watson that I use at owc that I love. But when you look at the sizing charts all three sizes are in my weight category. The guy at performance also told me each board company measures their boards differently

I'm about the same size as you and used to ride a hyperlite 144 continuous but then switched to the ibex 139 3-stage and love it. The ibex is shorter but fatter so i guess it kinda compensates.

You shouldnt be on anything smaller than a 143 for your size.

Longer boards are also typically wider as well.

I'd check out the O'Brien Decade 144cm. It is a top of the line pro model board, but really people in any riding level can enjoy themselves on it. I've never heard of anyone being dissappointed on it, and I'm sure you wouldn't be either!

Being 6'9 200 lbs, I figured I needed a big board. Had a Ronix Arcade 143. Thought it was okay, then last summer I got a 142 Hyperlite process. I know not much of a difference but it feels so much nicer and it is defiantly lighter. Next board I get as long as I don't gain a lot of weight will probably be a 141 or 140
