Well boys... it's that time of year again. The only true sport worth watching is back. <BR> <BR> This week begins my glorious Hawks march towards their Superbowl destiny. Our season will kick off with the crushing of Bolts in our first pre season game. You are all welcome to sit back and watch as they provide a clinic of pure football perfection and flawless execution.<img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/clipart/kiss.gif" border=0>

zo1 08-11-2009 5:48 AM

LOL, Kinda like 16-0 last year? <BR> <BR>If you want to see football as it was mean to be played, watch the Beagles this year. They were gonna be in the top 3-4 in the league as it was and now that Jim Johnson died, they have a chip on their shoulder and something to play for.

ironcross25 08-11-2009 6:33 AM

Go Browns! I think we will surprise some people this year! If not...Hey theres always next year

wakereviews 08-11-2009 6:56 AM

i'm just hoping the Chiefs put up anything better than 2-14

zo1 08-11-2009 7:03 AM

OI, at least you have a QB that has shown some potential going into this year. I don't think that Cassel plays as good on the Cheifs as he did on the Pats last year but it is a start.

08-11-2009 8:03 AM

Come on Cliff. This tread cannot get off to the right start without your game by game analysis leading to the usual 16-0 record. <BR> <BR>Don't disappoint! <img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/clipart/biggrin.gif" border=0>

jinxton 08-11-2009 9:56 AM

He's been giving us the 16-0 record for so many years now he doesn't have to put it on paper, it is UNDERSTOOD!!

mendo247 08-11-2009 10:03 AM

Cant wait to watch how the Cowboys do with out T.O. I think were really gonna miss him.

deuce 08-11-2009 10:05 AM

Could be a rough year.....<img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/clipart/rofl.gif" border=0> <BR> <BR>GO BRONCOS!!!!!!!!

dlamont 08-11-2009 12:34 PM

Hawks go 10-6 win the NFC west. <BR>Eagles go 11-5 win the NFC east <BR>Vikings go 9-7 win the NFC north. <BR>Saints go 10-6 win the NFC south. <BR>Packers &amp; Cowboys get the wild card.

stepintoliquid 08-11-2009 1:16 PM

Im just hoping the Bears can put something together seeing we now have a decent QB...

bruizza 08-11-2009 1:48 PM

I am just hoping my skins didn't waste their money on haynesworth and deangelo hall.

seattle 08-11-2009 4:24 PM

Surprised at those of you who are implying my loyalty may have waned. My Hawks will crush the West, move on to win the NFC handily and finish by crucifying whichever unsuspecting AFC team happens to be standing in our way at the Superbowl!

steve_b 08-11-2009 4:26 PM

Packers will go undefeated. I talked to a guy who said that in Northern Wisconsin at a Supper Club last night.

08-11-2009 4:46 PM

I'm not questioning your loyalty. It's just really funny to look back at each prediction after another seahag ass-kicking. You should do a calendar.

08-11-2009 4:49 PM

Cowboys have Wade for another year so we're not even thinking about the playoffs. Each week will be a struggle just to not be a repeat of last years season-ending Philly disaster. <BR> <BR>Next year he's gone so maybe we'll have something to look forward to then.

depswa 08-11-2009 4:52 PM

Unfortunately I'm a Raiders fan...what do you guys think about Hayward-bay now after all the Crabtree drama....I kinda feel better about the pick, but the real question is if can the man can run fast enough to catch up to Russell's overthrows? <img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/clipart/wink.gif" border=0>

seattle 08-11-2009 5:46 PM

Each week will be a struggle just to not be a repeat of last years season-ending Philly disaster. <BR> <BR>Next year he's gone so maybe we'll have something to look forward to then." <BR> <BR>I may wear my Hawk goggles too tight but I'll never, ever, ever give up, or turn on my team! <BR> <BR>The season hasn't even started yet and you have already written off your Boys. <BR> <BR>Meh... Dallas fan.<img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/clipart/crazy.gif" border=0> <BR> <BR>BTW, <BR> <BR>I'm ready for that infamous Seattle vs Dallas bet this year. They're gonna spank your pathetic self involved premadonnas this year! <BR> <BR>Go Hawks!

08-11-2009 6:21 PM

LOL - 16-0 was never on my radar this year. <BR> <BR>HOWEVER... <BR> <BR>Sunday, Nov 1 Noon kickoff.. WIN! <img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/clipart/biggrin.gif" border=0>

tinytdubb 08-11-2009 6:42 PM

Dan have faith. DHB will draw enough attention down field which will open up the passing game. I'm excited about this year. No hold outs too ..... Cough cough

iridelow1998 08-11-2009 8:39 PM

This has come to be my favorite time of year next to Christmas. Cliff should charge money for his predictions since they're as funny as going to a comedy club on Saturday night. <BR> <BR>Don't keep us waiting Cliff, give us predictions of each game! (Somehow the Seahawks will win them all)

seattle 08-12-2009 5:37 AM

It's a foregone conclusion this year D.<img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/clipart/kiss.gif" border=0>

08-13-2009 6:37 PM

Cowboys kick ass - I mean kick off in 30 minutes against the faiders. <BR> <BR>Romo dropped the trailer queen, played a few rounds this summer and is ready to thread the needle to ... well... nevermind - that's a problem. <BR> <BR>But if we can keep the running game working, tight ends picking up first downs and at least something happening at wide receiver - and make some field goals - it'll make those 60 dollar six packs and 90 dollar pizzas go down oh so good at that new stadium.

seattle 08-13-2009 9:39 PM

Much better "D"<img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/clipart/wink.gif" border=0>

ironcross25 08-14-2009 5:47 AM

sandman59 08-22-2009 1:38 PM

Steeler's D should keep them in most games with their offense being more inconsistent due to a very average offensive line. The line is young, hopefully they can improve as the season goes on. I think Baltimore may take a step back after losing their defensive coordinator and Bart Scott. <BR> <BR>(Message edited by sandman59 on August 22, 2009)

I haven't seen them play yet, but I guess the first team for the Packers, on both sides of the ball are looking stellar. I expect great things from this team this year. <BR> <BR>From one article I read: <BR> <BR>"Is it possible to peak this early?" a personnel director for another NFL team said at halftime. "They are one of the best teams I've seen. Very consistent. Very disciplined. Very detailed." <BR> <BR>Nice! Go pack!

seattle 08-30-2009 2:40 PM

Another win in the bank. A Raider spanking will finish up our pre season this coming week.

sidekicknicholas 08-30-2009 2:45 PM

+1 for the Pack. <BR> <BR>Their 1st teams look AWESOME! They just are very controlled and are playing all around solid football. <BR> <BR>but... if anyone gets hurt, not sooo good.

airrantz 09-04-2009 8:55 AM

Well I learned one thing last night. Hawks 2nd string offense is better than any defense the Raiders can put on the field. I'd say I learned that Aaron Curry is a beast but I knew that one already. He was all over the field last night. Bring on the Lambs.

Titans gave that game away tonight. When a four man rush and zone defense is getting picked apart you have to change up.<img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/clipart/crazy.gif" border=0>

sandman59 09-11-2009 5:46 AM

The Steelers are going to live and die with the passing game this year. They should go with 3 wides all game, then maybe they could run the ball from a spread formation. They certainly have a hard time running from a power formation. <BR> <BR>(Message edited by sandman59 on September 11, 2009)

lfrider139 09-11-2009 6:58 AM

how bout them steelers, well on our way to number 7!

airrantz 09-11-2009 9:30 AM

Congratulations to the Steelers for improving to 100-0 with Bill Leavy as the head referee. Only kidding....kind of. When will people learn that you can't give Big Ben all kinds of time to pass the ball he'll just pump fake and pick the zone apart. <BR> <BR>(Message edited by airrantz on September 11, 2009)

sandman59 09-11-2009 10:48 AM

I realize that I watch games with Steeler goggles, but what calls did the Steelers get last night? The Steelers didnt tell the Titan's left tackle to start forming a pocket before the snap. The one iffy call I saw was when Polamalu was called for interference when he had inside position on a ball thrown to the middle of the field. Luckily it was offset with the illegal formation call on the left guard.

zo1 09-11-2009 11:32 AM

rich, all I am sayin is that 36 yds rushing SHOULD not be confused with well on their way to SB #7...

airrantz 09-11-2009 12:12 PM

Rich, I was messing around with my Bill Leavy comment I didn't see anything fishy with the officials last night. I'm sure as a Steelers fan you know what I was hinting at though. I know Cliff does haha.

sandman59 09-11-2009 5:37 PM

Manzo, <BR> <BR>I agree that they need improvements before the playoffs especially on the offensive line. Tomlin needs to face the facts...the Steelers are a passing team. Once they accept that, they may be able to set up the run with their passing game.

seattle 09-11-2009 5:41 PM

Didn't even realize the Maddon NFL curse continued last night. Polamalu is injured for a least a few weeks maybe more. I'm actually starting to believe it's true.<img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/clipart/blush.gif" border=0>

airrantz 09-11-2009 6:01 PM

Yep since Polomalu and Fitz shared the cover they will only miss half the season. Can't fool the Madden curse by putting two on the cover. Too bad Farve wasn't on the cover for a second year in a row then we'd get to see his shoulder fall off in a game.

iridelow1998 09-13-2009 11:31 AM

Rams vs. Seahawks = Ouch!!!!

airrantz 09-13-2009 9:07 PM

Steven Jackson is still tasting Curry after that beat down. Gore you're up next. 0 sacks and 167 rushing yards, O-line you get a game ball. On a side note Adrian Peterson is a freak!!

polarbill 09-13-2009 9:25 PM

Nice win by the hawks although I can't really tell if it was because we were really good or they were horrible. I can only imagine what the score would of been if Hasselbeck didn't take so long to get back into a groove.

09-14-2009 7:19 AM

Cowboys make small change out of the Bucs! Rock me!
