Someone told me wake surfing behind a boat is really bad for the motor b/c it boggs down the engine.

Any suggestions or comments on this? I really wanna surf, but it's his boat and if he thinks it bad for it there's not much I can do about it

You are right, his boat~his rules

I think it depends on the boat, motor, prop, and gearing as to if it is bad for the motor.

On the Wakesetter 25 with a monster 4 blade and a 8.1 litre engine it barely works up a sweat, on a Wakesetter XTI 23 it kills the engine and fuel economy.

true..but ast such low speeds and such low rpm's, it doesnt REALLY matter..but alotta wheight when wakeboarding..it can be somewhat rough on the engine
Dude I wouldnt worry about It to much. It may load up a little so just throttle it up to blow out the carbon.
