Best cover for lots of rain

I need a new cover for my X2 and want something that can take 365 days of sun and very hard Miami downpours. I've been looking at skiboatcovers.com. Do these puddle? Are they easy to put on? Should I go with sunbrella or will that leak?

I had covers made for my last two boats using Aqualon. By far the best material I've ever had a boat cover made out of. My guy even put in some waterproof air vents so the boat could dry out with the cover on it.

I live in Washington where we get a lot of rain especially in the spring which is when I pull my boat out. I've loved my sunbrela cover. It keeps everything inside completely dry, pulls tight enough to disallow pooling spots and breathes fairly well too.

Hey Manny, I'm not sure what the material of my cover is made of but we had one fitted to go over the tower so it looks like a tent. I did this to my last boat and it never got wet and we have huge down pours with heavy winds.

Custom snap on sunbrella. Probably the best investment weve made for our boat.

Mine is similar to Mels. Has been the best cover I've owned.

Mel: I like that full cover. Did you order it online or have it made locally? Does it require polls? Does it ever puddle? Is it hard to put on? Lastly, if you don't mind, could you post or pm me how much it cost you?

Mel, a good addition are side skirts to keep the sun off the black hull.

Tim, I agree with you about covering the entire boat to keep the elements from fading the gelcoat but we were talking about another $500 on top of the $1200 to build it. So I kept it simple and asked them to cover just below the rubrail. They also gave me a removable cover for the swim platform.

Manny, I had the guys at Waterski America order the cover for me from Dallas Canvas and Boat Tops 972-910-9052. They offer a 5 year warranty versus the 3 years if you buy direct but I could have saved another $100.

Regarding the ease of installation, there are no poles required and I never experienced any collection of water or pools of water after a rain storm. The downside is it requires 2 people to install the cover, one to hold the bow portion and the other to hurl the cover over the tower and adjust it over the siderails and it's not trailable. It comes in 2 configurations to tie down the cover, one with the usual nylon straps and rachet system and the other with a rope and pulley system. I have the nylon straps but I wish I had the rope. Also, they will tailor to your needs, bimini in the up or down position.

The skirts and the configuration at the bow hold my cover down and in place. My old cover would pond then the sides would pull off. When the sides stayed secure, the cover would be stressed with too much water weight.

I easily put the cover on alone in fact its easier for one person to pull it on than two. I did not want to cover the platform because that is how I step off once securing the with the boat on the lift. I wish someone would commercially make similar covers. Mine could not work better.
