Went to my local lake this weekend and there is a lot of algae in the water. After boarding a few sessions my allergies were killing me, congestion, watery/itchy eyes, etc. Has anyone else experienced this and if so what do I need to take to prevent this?

I feel ya, I get the same way about 10:16 at night they hit me, i will sneeze 15-20 times in a row i hardly can breathe.

I have found taking a shower after my set and then popping a few benadryl before bed helps.

I have the same problem sometimes. I take zyrtec, it seems to take care of it.

Hey man same issues up here too...Cleaning off after the lake will help, and for me it was Clariton or walgreens version.

I have never experienced this but every time my friend boards he comes out of the water all stuffed up and sneezing... could be the same issue

I have the same problem. Taking a 24hr Caratin D before I go to the lake works pretty well for me.

I have this same problem and it got so bad that I started to wear a nose plug. Just getting lake water in my nose keeps me congested for days. I tried many meds, but what is helping me this season is a prescription nasal spray, I think it is some sort of steriod, and Mucinex. Claritin and Allegra work good also.

I get the same thing, really affect me when i get back in the boat after a set.
Clariton takes the edge off for me.
Most years I get a kenalog injection, this always clears me up for the summer.
