Hi.

We are very serious about buying this boat (our first boat) for 25K and I wanted to know if this model of Mastercraft has any known problems or is it a great/good boat.

We would like to do a little water skiing and wakeboarding with our 11-year-old daughter and friends.

I know that it wasn't built as a wake board boat, but since we aren't going to do anything too serious at the ages of 36 and 41, we just need something that will produce a decent wake. We aren't "hard-core" and just want something to have 4 adults and a small kid or two on.

Is there a better boat for us in this price range? Here are the details:

For sale. 2001 Mastercraft Prostar 195 (open bow) with Zeroflex Wakeboard tower and racks. Boat is 19.5 feet long with a tandem axle trailer with disc brakes and trailer buddy. Trailer tongue folds and will fit in a 20' garage. Boat was stored inside for 4 years and has been outside for two winters, but is fully covered by a custom fitted Sunbrella cover. Indmar 315 horesepower engine (Chevy Vortec) has only 120 hours of run time ( a baby in boat terms)! Boat has been maintained mechanically by local Mastercraft dealer and is in great shape both mechanically and physically. Standard features include dual speedometer guages, tachometer, temp guage, clock, Clarion CD stereo with four speakers, teak swim platform and Bimini Top. Must see to appreciate the beauty that this boat is! Many extras come with this boat ie: life jackets, tow ropes, double skis and tube, first aid kit, electric air pump, detailing products, too many to remember! Will show and test drive to serious buyers only!
Email me if you have any questions. Thanks.

I have seen pics of the boat and it looks like new.

Thanks in advance for helping a total newbie to the boating scene.

Actually I think that boat was built as a ski boat, the 205 had the wake hull on it. That would probably be a pretty good boat for you.

Daniel,
We have a 2000 X-5 which is a prostar 195 with the wakeboard graphics. My dad love the ski wake on the thing and when we load it down we get a good wake out of it. I think that we have around 900 hours on ours and it still runs great. The boat is a really good cross over boat.

seems a bit expensive.

The 205 was larger version of the 195 hull

Thanks everyone. It looks like we are going to pick this up on Friday after looking at it and taking a test drive.

I will post some pics then (just because it's my first and all!).

Dan

you should be able to find a 2000 Xstar for 25-27K, pass on the D Drive if you are a wakeboarder.
