if you have a mac, then popcorn will convert it perfectly.

Get Visualhub dude, its 24 bucks and worth every penny. You can convert anything to anything. Including those DVD ripped files to ipod format. You know if its a mp4 or mov you can just right click it in iTunes and say "convert for iPod". Its mac only so just an FYI.

Hope this helps!

Thanks for the input guys! So you think its Handbrake thats the problem? It plays fine in iTunes but wont transfer to my iPod at all. And I am using a Mac.

joe, if you have a mac. Get roxio popcorn. you can download it for free with a little bit of work using btjunkie.com and transmission for mac. Or you could pay for it too. but its honestly the easiest thing ive ever used.
it works like this. First download "mac the ripper" from the mac the ripper site and rip the movie to video_TS files. Then once you've done that open popcorn and import the video_ts file into popcorn where it has a whole option for converting it to play on an ipod or a playstation psp. It sounds a bit complex but it really is the best once you figure it out.
