How'd you guys get clubs started at your schools? Was it hard, what did you have to do?

You need to talk to whoever is in charge of sports clubs. Here at Kansas State the department is called the Office of Student Activities and Services. You will have to fill out some forms, and here you have to go to some meetings. You then have to do things like fill out a budget request, sign waivers, etc. I am sure it is different at every school.

In most cases it is pretty easy to get a club started. I have started a club at two differnt colleges. Just go to your activities/club coordinator and fill out the proper paper work, get members, and have fun. The only real hard problem is getting all of the liability issues cleared up. However, once you get that cleared up its all up to you. I was able to get a boat and all of the neccessary equipment through a shop that I worked for. We pay to rent the boat each week but eventually, as the club grows, the school will most likely look into purchasing a boat for a discount in return for exclusivley using that particular brand. We happen to be using Mailbu's.

Hey Derek, just thought I'd say hi since we share the same, not so common last name. Texas here, you? Hope your not from Louisiana, or I might be paying your tuition. <img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/clipart/blush.gif" border=0>
