byerly board dilemma

i have rode the 02 byerly 142 finless for years now. trying different boards along the way but always going back to my 02. ive rode the one,and at the start of this year i have rode the 146 marek 3 times but ready to go back to 02. i do have a line on a byerly conspiracy but thinkin it will ride too different. what will ride similar to my 02?anyone?

Try the Byerly Blunt just got it and it rides similiar to the older Byerlys and the beams act like molded in fins and are adjustable for a looser ride or a more locked in ride.

What do you think? I am thinking if getting the 2011 55 inch I am just a little confused about sizing. I am 205 everything tells me I should be using a 142 - 144. The blunt is only a 139 but they dont make a larger size. Any thoughts?

Depends on your riding style and what you ride. You probably should be on a 142-144 but if you like shorter boards a 139 would be fine. I'm 160 and ride a 139 and honestly could go a little bigger. Especially for riding cable. Just depends on what you like. Bigger boards= more pop and softer landings but you typically also get more swing weight. So if your into jumps, grabs, and small spins, go bigger. If you want to spin a little easier go smaller

I'm 15 and weigh just 135 and my board is a 138. Also I have to say that it's cool you've been riding a board for ten years

It's definitely a personal feel as D said above. I'm about 185 and I ride a 144 behind the boat. I love how it pops solid and always has consistent and firm landings. Just feels great. Many of the boards these days have gotten so light swing weight, compared to '02, that it's almost a non-factor. I ride a 137 for cable, however. It's all your preference.

I have blunt 55" and when i put it next to my bside 140 it is longer. I wil take a pic. not sure where the measurements come from , but this boards def feels like its bigger than my 140. i am selling the blunt as well if you have interest pm me.

all the byerly boards waist width are pretty wide compared to the hyperlite boards. for instance their 53(135) is rated 160lbs and up and the 55(140) is rated 170lbs and up, you will probably be fine with the 55inch. stats are on evo.

nobody has mentioned the assault? Straight old school byerly right there. Probably the closest you'll get to the byerly finless.

some measure in a straight line from tip to tail and other companies measure with the curve to get the actual length of the board as if it were flat... isn't this right. can someone confirm? or even which companies follow which style of measurement.
