Boat Search

Hey guys, I am a complete beginner when it comes to wakeboarding and skiing. I have been out on the water but only a pontoon and my dads bass boat. We were looking into getting a bow rider, but after looking around we decided to go with something with a little more HP and versatility so we started looking into wake/ski boats. I have a budget of about $20k, not really looking for anything fancy for my first boat but want a good wake and dependable boat. I really have no idea or direction to go from there, a few boats I have looked at '98 Moomba Kanga, '99 Moomba Mobius, '97 Ski Centurion, 00' Supra Launch, and then I found a nice 05' Moomba Mobius LS for 22k. I'll provide the links, thanks for any help!

Darrin, thats the one I was leaning towards, really good price, I am not expecting a perfect boat by no means and that one looks in great shape, he sent me a few more photos through email, but is 675 hrs too much or am I okay still?

Should be OK, but it says 675 on a new engine how many are on the rest of the boat?

Right around 900-1000. I forgot exactly what he said I'll ask him tomorrow. I know it's a 2 owner boat and the first motor was replace under warranty by the original owners.

1600 hull hours is your negotiating factor. You will find hulls with 300 hours and trashed. Make sure everything works , lake test and get more pics and all the history you can. A well taken care of older boat can be better built and cared for than newer obviously. So check the hull over good and as pictures can still hide a lot of stuff. It's your call. Be patient with no regrets.

Alright, I will do! The guy is very straight forward and has answered all of my questions quickly. I am just concerned with those amounts of hours on the hull, how long can a hull last? I am familiar with the Supra name and after researching I know a lot of people recommend those boats but since its my first boat, I do not want to spend $18000 and it blow up or trash a hull.

If u were closer to Tx I'd recommend my 98 Malibu Response in the classifieds. Unless u wanna make the drive! I can gaurantee it's in great shape!
