What size wakeboard for my sister?
Weight: 105
Height: 5'4 Shoe size: 5 She's done growing at 24. Wants to get into wake boarding and her birthday is coming up. Looking to purchase a board for her. I imagine I'll probably take her into the shop to try on bindings first before purchasing them. However, I'm sort of lost as to what size to get for her. Was considering a 132, but wondering if I should go smaller. Any suggestions? Thanks! |
I'd say you're pretty spot on.
Being that she's full grown and fully muscularly developed you'd put her on a little bigger board then someone who is 12 years old and that size. Anywhere between 130-134 should be good. Most womens boards have a 132-ish size. Just make sure you get a nice "soft" shape. Round edges, mellow rocker. |

highly recommend! you can probably find previous years models with different graphics |
A 132 would be perfect.A 134 would give her room to grow.Either way a continuous rocker is easier to learn on.Evo.com is a good website to check out.Go to their outlet section for your best deals.Good Luck!

Would a 130 or 131 be too small?
Was looking at the Liquid Force Diva/Omega 131 for $160 and the Hyperlite Blur 131 for $219. I see Gator boards have a couple different models in a 132, but never ridden a Gator board so can't really comment. http://www.wakeside.com/product/wake...womens_2011.do http://www.wakeside.com/product/wake...womens_2010.do |
if you wanted to go smaller you could go with an obrien skyla 129

132 is about right. I second the continuos rocker-line. I have seen few girls ride a genuine 3-stage well. It takes too much of a driving edge all the way through the wake.
