Started lookin at renting and didnt realize how off the charts expensive it is! $600 for a WEEK!!! I started checkin out craigslist and might just buy a beater while im there and give it to a church when im done but thought I would check here first. Anyone wanna rent a car to me for a week in March???

eternalshadow 02-13-2009 11:41 AM

$600??? wow that sounds up there. I rented one for just over $300 from enterprise when I was there.

Where at in Fla? I have a buddy in Tampa that would probably rent you his mazda truck

j_money 02-13-2009 11:57 AM

Ill be in Orlando the 11th through the 28th. Lookin to rent the 11th through 21 as my dad will be there the remainder of the trip. Im under 25 so Its an extra $25 a day just because of that. I looked at priceline.com and called, Dollar, budget, hertz, and enterprise all with about the same results.

Jason that would be soooooo awesome if your friend was up to letting me rent his truck! Could you ask him or get me in contact with him? THANKS!

AAA discount my friend, join on up.

j_money 02-13-2009 12:08 PM

I have AAA. whats does that do?

bizz 02-13-2009 12:32 PM

Jesse before I was 25 I rented a bunch of cars when I would go visit Orlando. You just need to find the right rental place. Don't go through a big name rental agency. Tip the guy a bit and your in the clear. Tell them you need them to help you out and you will make it worth their while. Done it many times.

Rent from a non-airport location. For example Hertz Local Edition or the equivalent from other companies.

fatsac 02-13-2009 12:47 PM

Non-airport is the way to go! I drove a loaded Malibu for $24.99 daily while my truck was in the shop. Hertz seems to have the best deals.

home depot....you can rent a truck for like 25 bucks a day

k9fxr 02-14-2009 8:25 PM

Jason, that is the hourly rate

j_money 02-14-2009 9:06 PM

yeah... i checked on that. plus theyd pry be suspicious if I rented the truck for like a week and a half...

brodie_chaboya 02-14-2009 9:39 PM

Rent the cheapos for 19.99 a day.

sidekicknicholas 02-15-2009 9:38 AM

You can get the u-haul pickups.... a normal sized chevy was the one I saw the other day, and I think it said $19.99 a day

spjc 02-15-2009 11:04 AM

the only bad side about u haul is that u have to pay for the mileage used on top of the rental fee.

wake77 02-15-2009 1:00 PM

I rented a PT cruiser at the St Pete airport for 199.99 for the whole week last spring. I would check into that. Only about 2 hrs from Orlando.

j_money 02-18-2009 12:17 PM

Need some more legit options. Ill pay anyone in Orlando or the surrounding area $400 if I can use their car from the 12th through 21st.

jmurez 02-18-2009 1:36 PM

Try looking up rent-a-wreck. These are cheaper and may work for you.

allen 02-18-2009 2:15 PM

We use to rent U_haul trucks when we were under 25. Do an in town truck and its crazy cheap.

timmy 02-18-2009 2:18 PM

Oh I totally missed the under 25 part. We rented one somewhere back in '99 that didn't require you to be 25....let me think about this for a minute.
