Wow! I couldn't be happier! Got my new bracket yesterday! It fit perfect and is almost a perfect match to the rest of the dash! Best $150 I have spent on the boat!

Aquaholic,
See, I told you it looks stock, the plate with the remote and ignition switch is custom. I had a local machine shop make it for me. They do mostly aerospace, semi-conducter and hobby stuff but I think they will make anything for the right price. http://www.sierrahobby.com/
I think they are made on some sort of mill or something.

Hey,
Please direct your questions to the website above. Sorry I can't answer your questions, but I didn't make them. I'm sure he can make whatever you, but I really don't know. All I can say is that they do a hell of a job.

Thanks,
Bocephus

A big thumbs up goes out to Sierra Hobby. Went out this weekend and several people couldn't even tell where the custom/stock parts were. They are building me some board racks and doing another plate for the other side of the dash. Sierra is awesome to work with, but you do have to have a pretty good designed idea or they don't know what exactly to build.

Hey guys, thanks for the good words. I'm going to try and upload the pictures that I took of the dash pieces we have made for people.

So far we have two styles, one that fits the oval clarion remote (M202RC-RET) and one for the circle remote (CMRC1-SB). We offer each in two finishes - Metallic Satin and Chrome.

The metallic satin is a glass bead and clear paint process that comes close to matching the paint used by Nautique on their signature series dash pieces. (See Bocephus' above pictures)

The chrome is a 4 part plating process that is much harder (tougher) than just polished aluminum. The chrome plater told me that their process shouldn't pit like other cheap 2 part plating processes. Cleaning the chrome should be done with dish soap, windex or some mild cleaner and a clean cotton cloth. Vinegar or anything with acid should be avoided.

We include the all mounting hardware and the ignition sticker with your purchase. Be prepared to cut some of the plastic flashing behind this dash piece to make room for the new remote and ignition positions.

We are asking $125 for each piece plus $7 shipping and tax if you are in AZ.

We are also working on custom pieces for people who have different remotes or no keyed ignition on that side. We'd be happy to work with you. The custom projects will start at $150 and of course go up with complexity.

Thanks again to Bocephus and clubmyke for all your input and help! Clubmyke - the chrome really looks good. I don't know if the picture does it justice. Bocephus has seen it in person so if you need another opinion, I'm sure he'd let you know his. Let me know which finish you'd prefer when you decide.

Ok, here comes the pictures. If anyone has any questions please don't hesitate to contact me.

Erik Lantz
Sierra Precision Products
SierraHobby.com
erik@sierrahobb y.com
(480) 968-0089

Holy Cow! That chrome looks damn good!

clubmyke 08-07-2006 12:26 PM

WOW !!!!!

These look great! Glad I could inspire such a good solution. I can tell you that $125 for these is a very good deal. I made mine out of 3/4 plex then painted it to match the dash. After three trips to the paint shop I ended up with enough paint to blend two different colors to make a very close match to the stock dash. I have probably about 10 hours into fabrication and finish labor into my piece plus probably $40 in parts (including the paint). Obviously if you can make a phone call and get this for $125 without going through the headache yourself it is a great deal.

mikeski i agree.. he is making chrome one for me to hold my eclipse remote and zapco symbilink volume knob.. wwwwaaaaayyy to cool

elantz 08-07-2006 8:31 PM

Mikeski, I apologize for not thanking you as well. Bocephus showed me the pictures of your plexy piece and that's how we got started. Your piece came out very well BTW!

Erik
