I am thinking about making an offer on a 2004 210 SANTE. The seller says the boat has less than 200 hrs on it and that he purchased it new in early 2005. I think his asking price of $45,000 (w/o trailer) is high. (Hopefully, he is not on this board). I am not necessarily trying to low ball him but I was thinking about making him an offer of $39,000.

My rational is as follows: (1) the season is basically over for this year (2) I would have to buy a trailer (probably a tandem for $3,000-4,000) and (3)I can buy a leftover loaded 2005 Malibu VLX for $48,000.

Here is some info on the 2004 SANTE

$45,000
PCM 350 Excalibur 330 hp
Docking lights
flip seat
FCT Tower
Board racks
Perfect Pass
Kicker stereo system
depth guage
air/water temp gauge
jump seat
cover
bimini top
composite platform
and more (???)
PCM and Correct Craft transferrable warranties
no trailer

First, what are your comments on this boat and in your opinion is my offer fair?

Second, those of you that own this boat what parts or components have given your problems or things on this boat that I should look more closely at?

Third, I am assuming that he couldn't have paid much more than $45,000 for this boat new in 2005. Does this sound correct?

Thanks for your time and opinions.
I think your reaching. I know I would not let my 2004 SANTE go for this price. NADA guides has the average retail at $47,000 with a single axle trailer. I would think $43,000 to $44,000 would be more reasonable. Just my opinion.

The only issue I have had with my boat is a steering recall on the '04 models. Other than that, no issues to speak of at all in 250 hours.

I thnk you're lowballing. I think $45K is a decent price, but maybe 42 is in-line since you need a trailer. However if you can buy a new VLX for 48 and that included a trailer..you honestly would be better off on that. Full waranty, new boat, trailer, and arguably a comparable wake. The SAN is a sweet boat and wake for sure, but there is little difference but the little differences between top end Malibu, MC, and CC now.

ERic

Which wake do you like better?
Buying a boat without a trailer is a PITA!
You have to pay a warranty transfer fee of, I believe, $500.00 to get the life time hull warranty.
The 2005 SAN have some minor structural changes that decrease the flex in the walk through. So, the 04 may not be what you want.
Seems like the Bu is the way to go.
where are there '05 vlx's for 48? i'd take a look for that price. is that out the door?

Flex in the walk through...? I haven't heard or felt that one! How much weight are you talking about to make it flex? I regularly lay a 600 lb bag there without noticing flex.

ccryder 10-29-2005 12:24 PM

The flex in the walk through area was primarily associated with some of the 02-03 hulls, the 04 on had some structural changes resolving the flex. I have had no problems with my boat and highly recommend CC if it meets your needs. I wouldn't sell mine for $39K. Either way you choose you should be happy.

Jim- I guess I misunderstood you when we talked about your 1st SAN. Thought it was an 04'. My neighbor complains a bit about the flex but he has a 02 (the yellow one down the bay). By the way what's up for tues/wed, wanna ride.
Thanks for the offer Matt, but I have some meetings. Hopefully sometime in the future.

Correct Craft's regional pricing is really fvked up at the moment, you can probably get your hands on a new '06 for 46, now that the cat's out of the bag with the yellow '05 selling at 47 loaded with tandem axle..

billybobfl2001 11-01-2005 3:36 AM

John - please explain! I know about the regional price differences, but here in Florida, I have not seen any 05s or 06s for anywhere what you are mentioning.

If there was any price disparity I would think that I would see that here, being only 2 hrs from the factory.

I've seen already 2 SANTE from 2005 for $44k on the internet (used, 1 w/o trailer). So I think a 2004 SANTE in the low $40k-$42k is a good price.
