Dave, I brought up wakeboarding calendars late last year, and you looked into producing Wakeworld 'dars for us. The idea seemed to be a popular one among the regulars here. The timing was too late though and you passed for the time being.

Any chance of such for '09?

wakeworld 11-09-2008 5:11 PM

As usual, we got on it late again this year. I'm actually waiting to hear back from a calendar company on whether or not they can get the price down. At the small quantity at which we need to order, it's probably going to be a money-losing proposition, but I'll find out for sure tomorrow.

kylek306 11-09-2008 9:40 PM

How many would you be thinking of doing? Have a few relatives in the industy

wakeworld 11-10-2008 9:06 AM

Probably around 1,000.

jaybee 11-10-2008 11:58 AM

Dave - I am in printing as well. If you are interested in a quote shoot me a pm.

solo 11-10-2008 4:52 PM

It's not all Daves fault for being behind schedule. I didn't get images to him till a week ago. Let's get this thing rolling! How many people do you guys think would want one?

mkrueger313 11-10-2008 5:01 PM

Put me down for 2

downfortheride 11-10-2008 5:07 PM

When you say Wakeworld Calendar, is it professional images or looking to get some pictures from members to make a full Calendar?

wakedad33 11-10-2008 7:19 PM

I'm down for a couple, got any good pic's Hahn

helix_rider 11-10-2008 8:09 PM

I'd say if we could get them in the $15 range, most people would pick up a couple for themselves/friends. If they are up in the $25 range...you are going to see the sales drop rapidly IMO.

derek23 11-11-2008 6:06 AM

Put me down for 1

dirwoody 11-11-2008 6:07 AM

Chalk me up for a couple

wakeparent 11-11-2008 6:31 AM

I'm on for 2

andy_nintzel 11-11-2008 7:21 AM

Put me in it and I will Buy one! Kidding! I would snatch one for $15.00 purdy fair price.

solo 11-11-2008 7:28 AM

I have already supplied Dave with 24 images. We just got a late start. Hopefully this will pan out.

silvermustang35 11-11-2008 7:55 AM

Put me in for at least 1..maybe more depending on price...

depswa 11-11-2008 8:07 AM

I might pass on the Hooter's 2009 for a Wake Calender....ah wait...nevermind. J/K

Just wake...Depending on the price...I'd probably pick one up.

Or...how about a Reef type wakeworld Calendar with some sick wake shots and new Boat Buns for each month...for that I'd definitely forego the Hooters Calendar!

dillls 11-11-2008 9:17 AM

$15 sounds good. I am in for sure.

ldebbold 11-11-2008 9:43 AM

I'm down for at least 2 of these.

spicychalupa69 11-11-2008 9:54 AM

Uno for me porfavor!

goinbigg17 11-11-2008 11:37 AM

$15 bucks is fair, I'll take one!

dakid 11-11-2008 11:43 AM

no offense to hahn as we know he takes sweet pics, but it would've been cool to get pics from a bunch of ww's photog members, such as ryan taylor, scott a., bakes, rich dykmans, walt, rileybangerter.net, etc. maybe a different photog a month.

bhurt 11-11-2008 11:45 AM

I'll take one

steezyshots 11-11-2008 12:22 PM

I like Joe's Idea. I have some photo's I would throw into that.

I have a ton more that arent on my site

jarrod 11-11-2008 12:36 PM

Riley has some worthy material on his site.

steezyshots 11-11-2008 12:44 PM

Well is it going to be a wakeboard calendar or a wicked weasel calendar...

johnny_defacto 11-11-2008 3:36 PM

im in for 2...

wakeripper 11-11-2008 5:35 PM

Hey Joe....don't forget little old me....I've got a few that would work well

I do have to agree with Joe on this one though

solo 11-11-2008 6:39 PM

I really dont mind. Dave and I were just trying to get something out. But we didn't really have a lot of time. I'd like to see some shots from other photogs as well.

sixeye 11-11-2008 6:46 PM

Joe, great idea! Maybe for 2010!

nick_in_ssp 11-11-2008 7:02 PM

Rather than pictures of riders I would love to have a calendar with pics of scenic riding areas. Something like my profile pic, but thats just me. Rather than just seeing somebody I don't know I would love to see some glass with some rails in the background or something like that. Pics like those are the ones that get me pumped to ride.

downfortheride 11-11-2008 7:23 PM

Joe hit it on the head while I suggested it. Everybody put in their best photo and leave it up to votes to make it into the calendar. 1 Photo & 1 vote per person to make a 12 month calendar, overall best photo's win a spot.

dakid 11-11-2008 8:21 PM

i think it may be too late for all that. let's support the '09 calendar and plan the '10 calendar a lot earlier next year.

westsiderippa 11-11-2008 10:47 PM

i like this, should be really fun, we should make it an annual tradition.

andy_nintzel 11-12-2008 7:00 AM

Umali I LOVE THAT IDEA, Yeah I would bet its a Bit to Late to get that rolling for 09. Plus my Homie Taylor is in the Phillipines with Murray and Crew.

sixeye 11-15-2008 4:25 PM

Dave, is this still looking like a possibility? I'm planning on buying four or five. Couple for me, couple for gifts. Prefer Wakeworld calendars but will go with LF if you're going to hold off until 2010. I can hold off a few more weeks to order.

buffalow 11-17-2008 11:38 AM

Dave,

I can send over a few of my favorite pics for the calender to represent the Westsiders... Hit me up personally if so.

wakeworld 11-20-2008 3:28 PM

Looks like this is dead again for another year. Unfortunately, I made the mistake of counting on a complete jackass to help us out with the layout and printing, but he must have much more important things to do than returning my calls and emails. I will take this opportunity to find a decent supplier for 2010 and we'll make sure we do it right. Sorry we didn't get it done this year, Hahn!

I really like the idea of having WakeWorld readers submit photos to use in the 2010 calendar. I've seen so many good pics on this discussion board that I know we can put together a killer calendar!

I'll put together a contest where we will have certain rules for photo submission and we will have 12 or 13 winners. I don't know if we'll have prizes or just pay them cash for their photos, but it should be fun. Let me know if you have any ideas.

litlone873 11-25-2008 9:28 AM

Hey Dave, I just heard about a calendar done for Weimaraner rescue where they ordered 1,000 copies for $2,000. If you want the printer information, PM me.

They also got sponsors for a few of the months to help cover shipping costs. Each sponsor got their logo somewhere on the page for $200.

wakeworld 11-26-2008 12:19 PM

I'd love to get that info. Definitely shoot me an email and I'll look into it for 2010.

litlone873 11-27-2008 8:57 AM

check mail

omj 01-02-2009 11:10 AM

I just saw this discussion as I was searching for a another calendar for my office.
I put together a calendar for WakeUtah.com with some of the user submitted pictures in our photo section. The calendar is done through zazzle, so if there is a picture that you don't like or want a different one you can put in a new one that you do like. I have been pleased with their service, though pricing is a little high.
Check it out on www.wakeutah.com

downfortheride 01-02-2009 12:46 PM

Joe ~~ Great job on the calendar! I was texting Dewey about it just the other day. I agree price is a little high but I can make one of the DFTR crew and make it all worth it. See ya in the spring!
