Mccormicks

Planning on going there next week. How cold is the water there?

sidekicknicholas 03-01-2010 7:03 PM

I don't know for sure but I would guess mid 60's

AntNoPrepNeeded 03-01-2010 7:22 PM

i went last week. its so fun. water is so buttery and the water temp is not bad

xmcmillenx 03-02-2010 3:46 PM

thanks. Do i need a wetsuit or anything or can I trunk it?

sidekicknicholas 03-02-2010 3:52 PM

You're a midwest boy... my guess would be trunks and a heater top would be fine, just trunks too.... but the locals will tell you're not from around

xmcmillenx 03-02-2010 4:12 PM

thanks.

if its cold and windy out, then the water is warmer than the air right now, its the wind that gets you, if its warm out i wear nothing , if its windy and cold a long sleeve shorty. I would guess the water temp was about 65 on monday.

I'm also going in a week. My navigation cant find it and the map that pops up from the website doesn't seem accurate and i can't see it on google maps. Is there any easy to spot sign or something for it or is it hidden?
Im so amped and have the worst cabin fever. cant wait to wakeboard.

Yeah we're pretty hidden man, if you're using google maps use this address this puts you right infront of us 6158 Muck Pond Rd, Thonotosassa, FL, United States. See ya guys here! Btw I say full suit but I hate cold water ;D

found it thanks. Mapquest has the aerial view of the cable but google maps only has the boat lake. See ya there in a week!!!

I would be shocked if the water is 65 right now. I live about 30 miles away and my pool was 47 degrees this weekend. Granted it's a pool, but a 20 degree difference?

Somebody from McCormiks should be able to tell you for sure. It's a high of about 52-55 degrees today with strong wind and rain, lows in the 30's and 40's. I would think twice about bringing a full-suit with you.

wakeborder5 03-03-2010 10:11 AM

Yeah, I'm gonna be down there next week and unfortunately don't have a heater top or shortie, so I will more than likely be wearing my fullsuit. I'd rather be too hot than cold, I'll surely appreciate it a lot after riding down there in early January when it was freezing

xmcmillenx 03-09-2010 5:04 PM

Had a great time at mccormicks. It was cold, but bearable. I wore a shorty because its all i have. Great to be back on the water. Now I will have to wait until Mid to late April before I can get out again.
