Nice work Cliff... That's clean.
|
thanks nu bu
figure I will plug it often to keep those babies in good shape
|
Use it after every outing and you'll never have battery issues. What kind of batteries are you running. I stuck 5 optimas along that wall you put your onboard charger.
|
I've got 2 blue tops

just run 2 amps and only 2 tower speakers so I didn't feel the need for more batteries
|
Looks good, I plan to install my battery chargers this weekend.
|
what battery charger did you use?

Weskel
|
hey Kelly. it's a Promite 5/5 dual bank

trickle charges both at the same time

cuts off and back on on it's own so you can keep it hooked up thru the winter if you want
|
Sorry, this might be dumb, but how does a battery charger work? I usually hook the battery up to a trickle charger the night before I go out, is this ok? how will a battery charger help?

Thanks
|
Erik
mine is the same thing, just mounted in the boat and able to charge 2 batteries at the same time

I just have to stretch the cord to the boat...instead of lugging a charger into the boat every time
|
thanks

Thanks for the info, that is not a bad price, I have to replace my two batteries this year, neither will take a full charge.

I will also install this charger, maybe my batteries will last longer than a couple seasons.

Kelly

I'm having a problem with my duel blue top optima batteries. They were installed by a good stereo shop last fall along with rewiring the battery selector switch which was apparently not hooked up correctly by another dealer shop. I turned them off for the winter and then put the switch on "all" and hooked up my charger to just one of them a couple of weeks ago before we took the boat out. Long story short, I think only one of the batteries took any charge, and the other battery doesn't seem to be charging even when I run the boat with the switch on all. What is wrong and how do I fix it? Thanks
|
I'm not sure Les, but it is my understanding that you cannot charge both batteries at the same time using a conventional charger

you need a dual bank charger

I have seen lots of posts on here from guys in the industry

I'm sure one will respond soon
